The overlook is truly phenomenal, but if you keep going into the valley (past the campground), true magic awaits! Cataloochee Valley is home to a resident population of elk who can be seen in the fields almost every evening at dusk. Bring a tailgate picnic and watch the herd as they emerge from the forest to roam and graze. Bonus point for every turkey you can spot!
Spend an afternoon exploring Linville--between the waterfalls, caverns, and gorge you are sure to be amazed by all the natural beauty of this area!
Bus tour of Asheville with comedy and booze... enough said
Best ziplining tours in the area! We recommend that you book a couple weeks in advance because October tours tend to fill up!

Moderate to strenuous 3-mile hike to the top of Mt. Pisgah. Incredible 360-degree views at the summit!!
Enjoy soaking for an hour or two in a serene private hot tub overlooking the Blue Ridge Parkway. Bring your own bubbly or add a massage to elevate your experience!
Incredibly beautiful yoga studio with a plethora of classes for all ages and skill levels
Alex works here at this resort as a server at Edison Craft Ales & Kitchen. Built in 1913, this hotel has a rich history and some of the best views in Asheville! Indulge in a massage at the world-renowned subterranean spa or enjoy an afternoon cocktail on the terrace while taking in the sweeping Blue Ridge Mountain views... the property will have you entering "vacation mode" in no time!
Our favorite restaurant in Asheville! From the outside it just looks like a cinderblock box but on the inside it feels like a cozy little speakeasy. Amazing food, perfect for a romantic dinner. Reservations are a good idea here, but you can always try your luck walking in--sit at the bar and watch the chefs at work.
Alex and Joshua's "regular" bar. Joshua may or may not be addicted to their crispy beef tacos... And make sure you don't miss the mini cupcakes!
Cute and casual counter-service by the river with diverse taco menu and select adult beverages
Our favorite spot to enjoy the sunset over downtown Asheville!
Indoor rooftop bar on the A.C. Marriott hotel--the cheese and charcuterie board is incredible!
This place is like summer camp for adults, but with beer! Spend the afternoon roaming the grounds enjoying great beer, food, and entertainment! Complimentary tours available with advance reservations
Enjoy some brews while watching kayakers and paddle-boarders pass by on the French Broad River. Be sure to book a complimentary tour in advance to learn how their beer is made, take a ride down the slide, and hear about the ways New Belgium supports the local ecosystem. And be sure to hit up the food truck--rotates daily!
A must-eat, fan-favorite eclectic neighborhood restaurant. We don't know what kind of voodoo magic goes on in that kitchen and we don't care, just give us one of everything please!! Expect a wait, but trust us, it's worth it. If you're really getting hangry and can't stick it out, Early Girl Eatery is just down the road--rarely has a wait and almost just as good.
Home of the "cat head" biscuit (that's a biscuit as big as a cat's head), gravy flight, specialty bacon of the day, and select adult brunch beverages. If you have leftover biscuit at the end (you will) then step on up to the condiment bar where you can explore endless creative flavors of honey, jams, and butters. Feel that hangover go bye-bye!
DOUGHNUTS. COFFEE. BOOM.
Wrap up a perfect date night with some sinfully delicious sipping chocolate. Or just skip dinner altogether and make a meal of your dessert. Bonus: they serve beer and wine so you can get your nightcap on too!
A charming used bookstore and fancy champagne bar all in one
This tea house is the perfect spot to relax and get off your feet after walking around downtown all day. If you really want to get into the experience, head to the back--take off your shoes and cozy up on the floor cushions and let their tea experts recommend the perfect blend for you. Great kitchari here too--if you've never tried it before then Alex highly recommends!!
Use the dropdown menu "Clubland" for a list of all the live music in the area every night
This is a great resource for finding things to do including local festivals, hikes, drives, date ideas, etc.
