Our Story
Some love stories begin with a first date
But, if you've found yourself on this page you've probably already heard some version of this one.
In 2013, Avery’s mom, Bonnie, needed a little help getting her brother, Aidan, to and from Clarence baseball camp... so Coach Bobby volunteered for the job. What started as a few rides quickly turned into Bobby becoming a familiar face around the Wallace house. He stuck around to play video games with Aidan, earned the very important title of trusted dog-sitter for Rosie girl, and even occasionally chauffeured Avery and her friends to the mall. Somewhere along the way, he became less of “Coach Bobby” and more like part of the family. Don’t worry, he was paid.
Fast forward several years - Avery and Bobby found themselves in the same place again, this time in Charleston, SC. Avery was at the College of Charleston, and Bobby was working in Charlotte and finding more and more “work reasons” to make the trip down. What started as reconnecting turned into countless visits, Bobby’s big move to Charleston, and eventually, falling in love.
Our story didn’t exactly follow a straight line. There were new cities, graduate school, new jobs, and time apart to grow into the people we were meant to become. But through it all, we somehow kept finding our way back to each other.
In early 2026, we moved to Denver together. That June, Bobby proposed on a hike in Evergreen, Colorado, with our dog Olive, of course! After more than a decade of knowing each other, growing up, growing apart, and finding our way back, our friends and family had just one thing to say:
“It’s about damn time!” We couldn’t agree more.
