John Wayne Airport (SNA)

About 20 minutes from San Clemente, this is the airport we recommend most. It’s small, clean, and very quick to get in and out of — you’ll basically land and be at the beach shortly after. Ubers are easy and inexpensive from here. Accommodates flight in from: - Alaska Airlines - American Airlines - Delta Air Lines - Southwest Airlines (most frequent flights) - United Airlines - Frontier Airlines - Spirit Airlines - WestJet (select Canadian routes) Tip: If you see a flight into SNA, take it! Choose SNA (John Wayne Airport) if: You want the easiest trip. It’s closest to the venue (20 min), quick to exit, and the simplest Uber ride. This is our top recommendation whenever flights are available.

Long Beach Airport (LGB)

About 45 minutes away. Also a smaller, relaxed airport with easy security and outdoor terminals. Often has great flight prices and is still a very simple ride down the coast. Accommodates the following airlines: - Southwest Airlines (most flight options) - Delta Air Lines - Hawaiian Airlines - Alaska Airlines Tip: Usually cheaper than SNA but still very convenient. Choose LGB (Long Beach Airport) if: You find a significantly cheaper flight or are flying Southwest from the West Coast. Still very easy and relaxed — just about 45 minutes away.

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

About 1.5 hours away depending on traffic. Best for international or nonstop routes, but allow extra time for travel after landing. Tip: Plan for traffic — especially Friday afternoons. Choose LAX (Los Angeles International) if: You’re flying internationally, from a smaller city, or need a specific nonstop route. Totally doable — just plan extra time for traffic after landing.

San Diego International Airport (SAN)

About 1 hour away depending on traffic. A great alternative if flights into Orange County or LAX are limited or expensive, especially for guests coming from the Southwest. Tip: The drive north is straightforward, but allow extra time on Sunday afternoons when beach traffic can build. Choose SAN (San Diego International) if: You find better pricing, are flying from the Southwest, or prefer a slightly less hectic airport than LAX. It’s an easy and scenic drive up the coast to San Clemente.

Once You Arrive

San Clemente and the surrounding coastal areas are easy, relaxed beach towns — once you arrive, you likely won’t need a car for wedding events. Uber and Lyft are readily available from all airports and throughout the weekend. Parking at the venue and hotels is available but may be limited, so rideshare is often the easiest option. Approximate Rideshare Costs: SNA → San Clemente: $30–45 LGB → San Clemente: $60–90 LAX → San Clemente: $90–160 SAN → San Clemente: $80–140 Rates vary based on time of day and demand. Rental Cars (Optional): If you’d like to explore more of Orange County — Laguna Beach, Dana Point Harbor, Newport Beach, etc. — renting a car can be a great option, but it is not necessary for the wedding itself. All airports have on-site rental car centers with major providers (Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, Budget, National, and more). Simply follow signs for “Rental Cars” after baggage claim.
