Our favorite spot for Lebanese food (with a modern twist) in the heart of downtown.
One of our favorite Italian spots in our favorite part of Detroit (Corktown!)
Another one of our favorite Downtown Detroit eating spots. We've shared birthdays and anniversaries here. Amazing French fare for brunch and dinner!
Waterside and kid-friendly promenade featuring a playground, swings and a carousel, as well as scenic views of Detroit and Canada.
Another one of our favorite spots to eat in Detroit (can you tell we enjoy Corktown?). Great cocktails and a menu inspired by Irish, Italian, & German fare.
Eastern Market began in 1891 as a farmers’ market and has grown into the largest historic public market district in the United States. The core is a six-block collection of market sheds where farmers, artisans, and vendors sell fresh produce, meats, flowers, spices, specialty foods, and more — often with flavors straight from Michigan farms and local makers. If you're up to it the Saturday morning after the wedding, stop by and grab some fresh produce and flowers on your way home.
Woodward Avenue is Detroit’s historic main street and the cultural spine of the city. Stretching from the Detroit River through downtown and into the northern suburbs, it has shaped the city’s identity for more than a century. First paved with concrete in 1909 — one of the earliest roads in the country to be so — Woodward became a symbol of Detroit’s rise as the heart of the American auto industry. Along this road, find many spots like the Arena District (Comerica Park - Detroit Tiger's home stadium and our first kiss destination, Little Caesar's Arena - home to the Detroit Red Wings & Detroit Pistons, and Ford Field - Detroit Lions home field stadium), Fox Theater, Detroit Institute of Arts, Campus Martius Park, and many shops and restaurants.
One of the best brunch spots (if not, the best) in the city. They typically don't take reservations, so be sure to get in as early as you can, and if there is a wait, take a stroll around Campus Martius Park, Capitol Park or the Woodward Promenade.
a 985-acre island park located in the Detroit River near downtown Detroit, provides spectacular views of Detroit to the North and Canada to the south. It's home to the James Scott Memorial Fountain, the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, the Belle Isle Aquarium, the Ralph Wilson Gateway (which serves as the official southern trailhead for Michigan's Iron Belle Trail), a golf course and many more cultural and natural attractions. A great little 10 min. detour between Downtown Detroit and the wedding venue.
