Kippy and I met on Black People Meet.com. I heard many of my work friends tell me "You need to do other things other than work, like in-person/online dating". So, one evening I logged on to this website I heard so many people talk about and created a page. A few days went by & ding, in my inbox, was a flirt from Kippy. I thought, here we go, another man on the prowl & I ain't interested in drama. So, I let it sit there for a few days. Ding...another inbox message from Kippy. He was a persistent man--geez! I thought well, let's just see what he is talking about. I opened the inbox message, responded with "Hey thanks for the sweet sentiment of a message & it read, "You're cute and, if given the opportunity, I would like to know you better. I don't want your number, I want to know YOU. May God bless & keep you today & forevermore. My thoughts were, Ummm, he sounds like a decent and a real gentleman. We chatted via computer for 6 months and then we exchanged numbers. Kippy was always a gentleman. After that timeframe, we exchanged numbers & talked on the phone for hours on end each night. Kippy is a Owner-Operator of Starling Trucking and about the time he was prepping for dinner & bed, I was just getting home from work. We made it a routine habit to have dinner together virtually. It was our first of many dates. After 5 months of talking on the phone, we met. Kippy brought a load of supplies to OKC, March 2016. We met at the Cheesecake Factory, one of my favorite restaurants and the rest is history. We laughed and talked the evening away, and were actually the last guest to leave. If you know Kippy or when you meet Kippy, he is a quiet, reserved, jovial soul. If you know me, my soul is loud, happy and full of laughter. Our souls connected and he has been my partner in love/laughter for 6 years. We've had our moments as everyone does but what God puts together, let no man tear apart. Our shared bible scripture is Corinthians 16:14-Let all that you do be done in love.
On Saturday, April 25, 2020, my morning started like normal. I received breakfast in bed from my personal chef, Kippy. He said, "all my life I've wanted a wife and I want her to be you. Anika Ayanna Wilson, will you marry me"? This proposal was a shock...does my picture below depict the emotions I was feeling, outside of my eyes leaking liquid? After breakfast and the shocking proposal, we ended the evening with a quaint dinner and a horse and carriage ride. Excellent day with my 'fiance'! He stole my heart so I'm stealing his last name. #StarlingNowandForever #Starlingatfirstsight
