We encourage our guests to look their best - while also staying comfortable. Neither venue has a dress code; one is historic, elegant, and a little eccentric,) while the other has an industrial-chic atmosphere. If we had to suggest some guideline of what to wear, we'd go with "swanky" - whatever that means to you! ;) ...(if you need a more concrete answer, than anything that's less formal than black tie and more formal than jeans)
You are welcome to bring your children, but please include them in your RSVP count so we can provide enough seating, refreshments, and age-appropriate activities (coloring books, etc.) The reception will include a taco bar without child-specific meals; however the venue allows outside food, so you can bring something they will enjoy (there are lots of restaurants between the ceremony venue and reception venue). Note: The reception's outside patio connects to a large parking lot leading to other businesses; please be sure to keep an eye on little ones to make sure no one wanders off!
The DC area can experience cool, chill autumn days by late September - or an extended, warm summer. Please monitor the weather forecasts as the date approaches, and pack clothing appropriately. If you need to plan your outfit early, we recommend building in flexibility (having a sweater or coat in case it's cold, etc.)
DC is a short drive from Old Town; you can also take a short ferry ride, or metro ride, into the different neighborhoods or downtown. If you're visiting from out of town and can spare the time, we highly recommend take the opportunity to visit the capital!
We do not have a hotel room block. There are many hotels in the area, as well as Airbnb's etc. Please see the Travel page for information on recommended hotels (based on price and convenience of location to the venues.) It does not matter which hotel you stay at; the top two listed are the ones closest to the reception venue.
The ceremony will take place outside, weather permitting. In case of rain, the ceremony will be located inside. The reception is mostly indoors, however there is an outdoor patio area, and depending on the weather we plan to keep the doors to the patio open.
Yes, there will be an open bar. We will be serving non-alcoholic drinks, wine, beer, ciders, and a selection of custom cocktails (with mocktail counterparts).
We will be providing light appetizer trays during cocktail hour and for dinner we will be providing a taco bar (beef, chicken, and veggie options available, in addition to sides). We will also be providing halal and kosher alternative meals (please specify any dietary needs in your RSVP so we can coordinate accordingly).
There is NO parking available at the ceremony venue. If you are driving, you will need to pay for parking at a garage or public lot. We encourage guests to use public transit or a rideshare service; we will also be providing a shuttle (details to come). The reception venue does provide free parking.
