Flight
Flying to Costa Rica
We HIGHLY recommend flying into the Liberia (LIR) Airport! It will be approximately 1 hour drive from the airport to Tamarindo. See below for airport transportation details. If you choose to fly into San Jose - SJO (NOT recommended), prepare for a journey. It is a 4.5 hour drive to Tamarindo and we have heard the roads are bumpy on this path. There is 1 local flight per day from SJO to Tamarindo through Sansa Airlines.

Getting to Tamarindo
Liberia Airport Only: Our concierge will be happy to coordinate transportation from the Liberia Airport to Tamarindo. Transportation is $113 USD for round trip, per person. The Google request form is now closed. Please email concierge@amoreparaiso.com if you are still looking for transportation. Liberia is a small airport with one exit. Once you walk through customs and baggage claim, you will be greeted by private drivers holding signs. It’s very easy to navigate!

Transport throughout Tamarindo
Uber/Lyft does not work in Tamarindo. Taxis are available if needed, be sure to bring small bills of cash to pay. The span of the town is approximately 1.5 miles, so most places are very walkable. If you choose, you can rent a golf cart to get around town! Check out Paradise Cart Rentals for more information.

Our hotel block is at the wonderful Cala Luna hotel in the Playa Langosta neighborhood. This is where we are staying along with our families. Condo and Villa Rentals

The Coast Hotel
For those searching for a more budget friendly option, we recommend The Coast Hotel. This hotel is right between the Playa Langosta neighborhood and downtown Tamarindo - a great middle ground! We do not have a room block here, so you can book directly on their website. Rooms start at $230 per night.
