Despite growing up 20 minutes away from each other in different suburbs of Minneapolis, we didn't meet until freshman year at the University of Wisconsin. After our parents finished setting up our lofted beds and futons, they departed the Sellery dorm and left us to our own devices. Of course, that immediately meant finding old friends and meeting new ones. Lucky for Andy, Grace was rooming with an Eden Prairie friend of Andy's, who invited Andy over to hang out. Grace clearly made a great first impression since Andy ended up leaving his number written on her whiteboard. If only we knew on Night 1 of college that we were going to find the person we'd end up marrying! Fast forward to the end of Sophomore year - after a year or two of being friends and realizing we had a lot in common, we decided to make things official and started dating. Dating in college was a whirlwind of fun parties, concerts, and sporting events. Once college ended, after a brief stint in Minneapolis, Andy joined Grace in Chicago. As we got older, we grew together in our interests. While we still enjoy parties, concerts, and sports, we have also grown to love quieter moments together including cooking, biking, and taking care of our Golden Retriever, Leo. Through the past decade, we have been lucky to have made so many memories together with our family and friends. Some of our best memories have been during our travels, which is another bond we share - our eagerness to experience new places and seek out adventures. We can't wait to make our most special memory yet, with people we love, in Costa Rica.
