We are planning a courthouse wedding for immediate family sometime before this wedding reception - but no, we're not married yet (as of writing this on September 15th).
You may or may not have noticed the “W” wax seal on your mailed invitation - we’re both changing our names! We explored and thoroughly discussed all of our options and have decided to take Amy’s mother’s family name of Woodson. Don’t worry, Brian will forever answer to his nickname “Checco” and will likely keep Checco as a middle name or hyphenate to Checco-Woodson. But we shall henceforth be known as The Woodsons!
We will likely do some sort of informal vow exchange at some point during the evening. We're still working out the details.
We're just not those people - neither of us envisioned walking down or standing at the end of an aisle for a formal/traditional ceremony. We wanted all the stuff WE love about weddings - having all of our friends together with good food (and drinky drinks) and dancing the night away, so that's what we're doing!
True Chesapeake has ample parking. That being said, it's open bar for all or most of the night, so we HIGHLY recommend taking an Uber, Lyft or having a DD.
Kids are welcome on a case-by-case basis. We love your kiddos - that being said, this is not a kid-centered event and you (and your kiddos) will probably enjoy the evening more if they hang out at home. But we totally understand the complexity of figuring out childcare so if you need or want to bring them along - just let us know!
There will be passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour followed by various food stations during the dinner and dancing portion of the evening! We're still fine tuning the menu, but it will be seafood- and beef-forward. If you have specific food needs (e.g. shellfish-free, gluten-free, nut-free, vegetarian/vegan) please let us know so we can work with the restaurant to accommodate you deliciously!
We're bringing the party and the after-party! Baltimore tends to wind down early-ish, so we'll plan to party into the evening until True Chesapeake kicks us out. The venue is spacious, so feel free to bring a change of clothes or more comfortable shoes to change into later.
