Question

Do we have a wedding registry?

Answer

Because everyone is coming from so far away to celebrate with us, we do not have a wedding registry. If you do want to gift us anything, we are hoping to go on a small honeymoon on the island later this summer (Nick's vacation days permitting!) so any contribution to that would go a long way. However, we are just grateful to get to hang out with our favourite people all in one place, so don't feel obliged to gift us anything please!

Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

Dolphins Resort, Campbell River. The website is: www.dolphinsresort.com We have booked the whole site for the wedding and on Friday we're hosting a Welcome BBQ Braai so you can get to know the location and other guests.

Question

How do I get to Campbell River?

Answer

Many people will be hiring cars so that is an option, as is car pooling.

Question

Is Vancouver on Vancouver Island?

Answer

Perhaps surprisingly, no its not. Vancouver is on the mainland across from Vancouver Island. The island is huge and the normal point of entry is Victoria. The wedding will be on the north of the island, about 3hrs drive from Victoria, in a town called Campbell River.

Question

Can I book accommodation at Dolphin's Resort?

Answer

Unfortunately due to a limited number of rooms, we've allocated accommodation on Dolphins Resort to guests staying with children, so if you haven't been contacted by us we ask that you please book accommodation elsewhere in the Campbell River area. We have included some ideas on the travel page.

Question

What shall I do with the kids?

Answer

Bring the little terrors along! This is a kid friendly wedding and there will be a number of children there, so lots of opportunities for them to make new friends. During the wedding reception and speeches, we will be hiring professional babysitters to look after the kids in their own comfy, secure space in a cabin right next to the venue, where they can eat chicken fingers and fries, watch Disney cartoons, and play games. If you have any questions or requests please let Nick or Ali know. We will update this page with more information nearer the time and will contact parents before the wedding with precise details.

Question

Will my dietary needs be catered for?

Answer

The caterers will do everything possible to accommodate everyone's needs. There will be vegan, lactose and gluten free food options. Please do let us know if you have any allergies or dietary needs we should be aware of.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Before May 30th 2019 would be great. If you are able to RSVP sooner, please feel free to do so as it would really help us get a head start on some aspects of the organisation :-)

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony on Saturday?

Answer

Please arrive between 2.30pm and 3pm. Guests will begin taking their seats for the ceremony at 3pm.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

You stud/studette! Due to the difficulties of organising this multi-national wedding, please only bring invited guests :-)

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both happen at Dolphins Resort and parking is streetside at the entrance to the resort.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

I'm afraid there won't be transport provided between Dolphins Resort and your hotel. We have put up phone numbers for taxis and there might also be the opportunity for guests to carpool.

Question

Could You Suggest An Itinerary?

Answer

Why certainly. I'd suggest spending over a week here, but then I'm biased... For a 1 Week Trip, I'd suggest arranging it so that the wedding is at the end of your trip, in order for you to recover from the fairly unpleasant jet-lag. So an example itinerary could be: Monday: Arrive in Victoria Tuesday: Victoria Wednesday: Victoria to Mystic Beach to Port Renfrew Thursday: Port Renfrew to Avatar Grove to Victoria Friday: Victoria to Campbell River (Welcome BBQ Braai) Saturday: Campbell River (Wedding) Sunday: Campbell River to Victoria Monday: Fly home

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Summer wedding casual! No Dinner Jackets or tuxedos necessary, y'know just wear comfy suits, chinos & jackets, that kind of thing :)

For all the days along the way
