The Couple's Story

In their own words...

Nick: "The story of Alison and Nick is surely an epic that belongs in the pantheon of timeless love stories. Through the dusty passageways of history, the stage on which their love first played out will always be remembered – the creaky boards of an ancient Venetian book store. Nick visited at the suggestion of a rakish gondolier he had met the night before in a dockside bar. Having made it past the judging gaze of the aged bibliomane seated at the door, Nick felt his way down a dark aisle to a shelf of forgotten Gino D'Acampo first editions. As he pulled out a large cracked tome and blew the dust away, an unmistakable aroma cut through the fusty air, provoking his nostrils. Was it? Yes it was. That classic scent - Eau de Sexy by Victoria’s Secret, and here, in this dank library. Ever perceptive, Nick felt another’s presence close by. His glance lingered above the line of books, in the gap between the shelves. A pair of lustrous green eyes burned back at him, flickered and then looked away with a coyness that set his heart a beating. In that moment, he knew he would make her the luckiest girl in the world. 'As Gino is my witness,' he whispered to himself, 'I will court, woo and wed her… WITHIN THE YEAR!'" Ali: "No. We met on a dating app. First time I ever saw him in person he was coming out of the loo wiping his hands on his trousers."
