Question

Should I bring a Jacket? YES!

Answer

Although Tucson is a desert, our wedding is being held at Whitetail Campground on Mt. Lemmon, which is over a 6,000 foot elevation change from Tucson. Thus please be prepared for cold weather during the wedding. We will have a large bonfire and blankets, but no electric heaters. Searching for the weather of Summerhaven, AZ is a more accurate location for what to expect at the wedding. As of 9/23/23, the weather on the wedding night is expected to range from a high of 71 degrees during the day, to a low of 45 degrees at night, with windspeeds of 9-11 mph. At around 11pm, it will likely be in the mid/high 50's to low 60's.

Question

**Shuttle Information**

Answer

Wedding Shuttle Information Document: https://tinyurl.com/alexifershuttle **Please note that we have very limited seating on the shuttle going to the wedding. If your name is not on the Wedding Shuttle Information Document Guestlist, then please do not plan on taking the shuttle to the wedding as there will not be a seat for you.** Shuttle TO the Wedding: -If you have noted on your RSVP that you are planning to take the shuttle to the wedding, please check your inbox for an email from akazawaj@gmail.com with important information on pickup/dropoff times and a link to the Wedding Shuttle Information Document: https://tinyurl.com/alexifershuttle -If you have any questions or need help finding a ride up to the wedding, please email Jen at akazawaj@gmail.com. Shuttle FROM the Wedding: -You do NOT need to RSVP for this shuttle as there will be two shuttles leaving Whitetail Campground after the wedding and dropping off at Summerhaven and then to Loews Ventana Canyon. -These shuttles will depart from Whitetail Campground at 9pm and 11:30pm. -If you drive to the wedding, and do not feel comfortable driving home down the mountain, you can take the shuttle home to Summerhaven/Loews Ventana Canyon, then pick up your car the next day.

Question

How do we get there and back?

Answer

If you plan on driving, please note that it is approximately a 1 hour drive along a winding road with a significant elevation change to get to the venue from Central Tucson. There are approximately 45 parking spots across the entire campground and each car will need a parking pass that will be given to you upon entering the campsite. You may have to walk along a paved road with elevation changes after parking to get to site 5. We recommend carpooling as much as possible. If you plan on drinking, we recommend having a designated driver, camping, or taking our provided shuttle to/from your hotel. It's a high elevation so please plan accordingly! There are no cabs or ride share services available on Mt. Lemmon, so please do not plan to use them. The drive down the mountain at night can be dangerous and accidents occur regularly; Because of this, we highly encourage our guests to stay on Mount Lemmon the night of the wedding. If you're not sure where to stay, we provided some suggestions on the Travel tab above. Please see the "Shuttle Information" Section above for more details on the shuttle.

Question

So...it's a campsite?

Answer

Yes. Don't worry! The wedding venue is Whitetail Campground, which is a large group campground at about 8,000 ft elevation. Both the wedding ceremony and the reception will be held here. The weather historically ranges from 60-85 F, but can feel colder with wind chill on the mountain, so please bring a jacket! The entire wedding will be outdoors with dinner under a large ramada. The ceremony will be held on an unpaved area with a mild incline, so please wear shoes that you can walk comfortably in. Short heels or flats are encouraged. We have rented all five large group sites at the Whitetail Campground, and the wedding will be held at Site 5. Cellphone reception is intermittent at the campsite, so please be prepared to unplug and have a great time!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We suggest cocktail attire. We recommend that ladies wear wedges or flats as the ground can be uneven. It will get chilly up on the mountain once the sun goes down, so please bring a jacket and shoes to dance in!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If your formal invitation indicates your name plus a guest, you are welcome to bring a guest.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do, but we want our wedding to be your night off! Thus, the only children that will be attending the wedding ceremony are the flower girl and ring bearer. Our wedding planners recommend Trusting Connections (520-544-6612) or Choice Care (520-322-6966) as babysitters. They are licensed and insured.

Question

Have you reserved hotel blocks?

Answer

We have not. Instead, we highly recommend booking one of the locations listed in the "Travel" tab.

Question

Can I Take Pictures During The Ceremony?

Answer

We would like you to be completely present during our ceremony and request you turn off and put away your phone and camera. We have hired a wonderful photographer and we would like her photos of our ceremony to be free of guests holding cell phones or cameras. However, feel free to take photos before and after the ceremony!

Question

Can I Camp or What?

Answer

Yessir, bring out your tent and have yourself a grand old time! Please see the "Camping at Whitetail Campground" section of our Travel page for more details. Just do us a favor and pack out what you pack in, please!
