You betcha! We love your kids and they are invited to every part of the wedding weekend. We mean it!
You sure do! You can buy it on the island, and we will also have plenty to share.
Yes! There is an all-purpose grocery store, the Ocracoke Variety Store. It has everything from ice cream to peanut butter to something called "Krack Corn" that we weren't brave enough to try. There is also a boutique market and wine shop called Zillie's. Some groceries (especially produce) can be quite pricey on the island, so if you plan on a big grocery haul, we recommend you do it at a bigger grocery store (they have Publix in North Carolina!) on the mainland before getting on the ferry.
Once you've arrived by ferry, you will have little use for a car except for when you drive to the beach. Most people get around the village by either walking, bicycling, taking the free tram, or riding a golf cart. Golf carts are definitely the best way to get around town, and there are multiple golf cart rental places in town to reserve a cart from ahead of time (they're all great, just pick one!). If you don't get a golf cart, make friends with someone who has one. Golf carts can't be driven past Howard's Pub, so that's why you'll need a car for driving to the beach, even though it's only a few miles past the village.
If you are flying to Raleigh, Norfolk, or one of the other airports nearby, you almost certainly need to rent a car to get to the ferry terminal as there isn't a great way to get there via public transportation. We know this can be expensive, especially as you will likely not use the car much at all once you get to Ocracoke. If you are having trouble coordinating or want to try and find other people to share a rental car with to cut down on cost, let us know and we'll see if we can help!
Whatever you feel like! Since the ceremony is early in the morning and the reception isn't until later in the afternoon, you'll have the day to spend how you choose - at the beach, shopping, exploring, or lounging!
