We chose to have our wedding in beautiful Blowing Rock, North Carolina because the location is special to us and our families. It is devestating to see the damage which resulted in the area from Hurricane Helene. Thankfully the High Country community and its people are resilliant, and we are confident it will be restored by wedding time. We encourage our guests to consider donating to local and State disaster relief efforts to help the community rebuild in the coming months. Please feel free to reach out if you would like suggestions regarding which organizations would be best suited to donate.
Both the ceremony and reception will be held at the Blowing Rock Country Club, located at: 200 Country Club Drive, Blowing Rock, NC 28605
The dress code is cocktail attire. We want you to look great and feel comfortable enough to bust a move on the dance floor! (Think: knee length to maxi length dress, jumpsuit, or dress pants with a silk top or blouse for women; suit and tie for men.) The ceremony will be outside in grass, so spike heels are not recommended.
In typical North Carolina fashion, the weather in the mountains can fluctuate greatly in the Spring. The average daily temperature during April is 60 degrees, but it can dip as low as 40 degrees at night. While the ceremony will be outdoors, the reception will take place indoors.
Due to capacity and safety concerns, we are only able to accommodate children in the wedding party. As such, we ask that you leave the kiddos at home. Thanks for your understanding and we hope you don't mind having the night(s) off!
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you. We are at capacity with our venue which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. We look forward to celebrating with you on the day!
Please arrive between 4:00 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. for the ceremony, which will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m.
Our registry can be found on this site at the heading links above. While we have registered for items we think will be useful, we recently merged our homes and thankfully have many household goods. We are certainly grateful for any gift, but our short term financial goal is to add more space to our house for our future family! We have a strong preference for cash gifts to our Home Renovation Fund, which is the first item on our registry at the link above.
We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. For the rest of the wedding, we encourage guests to use our personalized QR Code (will be posted around the venue) or the below link to upload and share your photos during or after the event. https://my.wedibox.com/rec19b8i9NQzGEc6 If you post photos on social media, be sure to use our wedding hashtag #HappilyHarris25 so we can see them too!
