Umbria is located in central Italy, known as the "Green Heart of Italy," offering breathtaking landscapes of rolling hills, vineyards, and charming medieval towns. Our venue is located in Spoleto, which is approximately 80 miles (130 km) from Rome. By car, it takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach Spoleto, depending on traffic and the route taken. Alternatively, you can take a train, which typically takes about 1.5 to 2 hours as well. With its rich culture, delicious cuisine, and stunning scenery, Umbria offers an unforgettable setting for the weekend.
Please RSVP by May 1st, 2025.
We are so excited to celebrate with our closest family and friends! Due to the intimate nature of our destination wedding, we are only able to accommodate those listed on the invitation.
We absolutely love your little ones! However, due to limited accommodations at the villa, we are only able to host children ages 3 and under on-site. While there are no strictly adults-only events, the weekend’s festivities will be designed primarily with adults in mind. For those traveling with older children, we’d be happy to recommend alternative nearby agriturismos for lodging. Thank you for understanding—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Our main priority for our celebration is to maximize the quality time spent with our loved ones in a beautiful and comfortable location. We have arranged accommodations at the Villa and at nearby agriturismos for our guests. We appreciate that you are traveling far to be with us and will be covering the cost of your lodging Thursday night through Monday morning. More details regarding these accommodations will be shared closer to the wedding. Alternatively, if you would like to arrange your own accommodations, please let us know.
Mid-September in Umbria offers beautiful early autumn weather, with warm, sunny days and comfortably cool evenings. Temperatures typically range from 60–80°F (16–27°C), with little rainfall, making it a perfect time to enjoy the region’s scenic beauty and celebrate with us!
Depending on how you would like to spend your time over the long weekend, we might recommend renting a car. While Umbria is relatively accessible by train (and taxi for shorter distances), if you are interested in fully exploring the area before, during or after the wedding, a rental car is the best option. Please inquire with the rental car company if an international driver's license is necessary.
The ceremony itself will begin in the garden at the Villa on Sunday, September 21st at 4 pm.
Please let us know if you have any food allergies or require a vegetarian meal when you submit your RSVP so that we can accommodate your needs.
Yes! There will be both structured events to make the most of our time with you as well as free time to explore the area (or enjoy the villa/agriturismo) on your own. Please see the Schedule tab on our website for the full itinerary for the weekend and RSVP to the events you will be able to attend.
The official festivities will begin on the evening of Thursday, September 18th at Villa Pianciani and continue through the morning of Monday, September 22nd. We encourage you to take some extra time to explore Italy—whether before or after the wedding celebrations! Alex and Kelsey will be in Casperia with family and friends leading up to the big day. While these days will be informal and self-guided, we’d love for guests to consider staying in the area before heading north to Umbria. Kelsey’s mom, Brenda, will be helping guests coordinate their stay if they are joining us in Casperia. Though we’ll be departing on Monday, September 22nd, we warmly encourage you to extend your adventure if your schedule allows, and explore more of Italy after the festivities on your own.
2025 is a Jubilee Year, a special event in the Catholic Church that takes place every 25 years, bringing millions of pilgrims to Rome. This means the city and surrounding areas will be busier than usual, with large crowds, higher demand for transportation and accommodations, and occasional road closures. While we do not expect this to significantly impact guests after leaving Rome, we recommend booking flights, trains, and rental cars early if you're extending your stay, and allowing extra time for travel.
Umbria is a stunning region with so much to offer. While we’ve recommended a few activities in the area to help you get started, we encourage you to explore on your own and fully embrace all that Italy has to offer—before and after the wedding festivities.
We know that a destination wedding is a commitment, and we are beyond grateful for your presence. Having you with us is the best present! While there is no pressure to do so, please see our Registry page if you would like to give a gift.
