Sam and Alex met in sophomore year religion class in 2015, seated just a few desks apart. Sam says it was love at first sight; Alex thought he was just a very nice guy—walking her to her locker, chatting with her friends, and always asking about her day. A fast friendship grew into something more, with time spent before class, at games, and eventually senior prom. College took them to different schools and cities, but life kept bringing them back together. When Alex transferred to Purdue, their friendship turned into love—between library dates, quick meetups on campus, and long walks by the fountains. Even through graduate school, medical school, new cities, and nearly 200 miles apart, they stayed close with FaceTime study dates and late-night calls. On November 2, 2024, Sam brought Alex to Southeastway Park and proposed on the dock surrounded by fall colors. She was surprised, said yes, and they can’t wait to begin this next chapter together.
