Surfing
Folly Beach is one of the premier surfing destinations on the East Coast. While you will find surfers all along the beach, the most popular spot is a strip of beach that catches the biggest waves--The Washout. Board rentals can be found at McKelvin's Surf Shop, Folly Beach Rentals, or Ocean Surf Shop. Lessons can be taken with Folly Beach Surf Lessons or Shaka Surf School.
Fishing
olly Beach offers all the variety a fisherman could want including bountiful surf fishing, river fishing, pier fishing, and deep-sea sport fishing. Check out the Folly Beach Pier to get rod rentals, stroll and watch others reel in big ones, and grab a snack or a drink at Pier 101 Restaurant & Bar.
Bike the Island
Folly is only 6 miles long and lends itself perfectly for a slow ride beneath the palms and oaks with a pit stop to gaze at the Morris Island Lighthouse followed by a dip in the sea then a cold drink at the funky outdoor bar Chico Feo. Check out Cool Breeze Bike Rentals or Folly Beach Adventures.
Kayak and Paddleboard
Explore Folly River and itch hundreds of inlets and miles of marsh land. Paddle along side dolphins, spot pelicans, gulls, and egrets. See oyster grounds first hand (but don't step on them if you value intact skin!).
