Alyx and Michael try to go to the Troy Farmers Market every Saturday that they can. On
the morning of 5/11, Michael told Alyx he’d be off golfing, leaving her to go to the market
with her mom and friend James, instead.

They walked into Jacob Alejandro – where all good Saturday mornings begin. When
Alyx went to order, she was surprisingly handed her favorite cake baked fresh by one of the owners, Jake
(which hadn’t been made in 3 years), along with a mysterious envelope labelled #1.

Upon reading the first clue, Alyx realized Michael had set up a Scavenger Hunt around
the Farmers Market for her. She turned to her mom and James and said “Is this it?!?”,
and instantly started crying.

Each clue led her to another vendor, who greeted her with giant grins. Alyx was amazed
by the thoughtful clues, as well as how Michael had even paid each vendor ahead of time for her to pick up their weekly favorites.

The last top on the Scavenger Hunt, was their favorite stall of the Market – Susi from
Saratoga Spicery. Alyx kept looking over her shoulder, wondering where Michael would
finally jump out from.

But upon reading the last clue, Alyx knew to where to find him –
down to the Hudson River waterfront where he’d been patiently waiting.

Alyx cried as she ran towards him, in complete awe that he’d managed to organize all of
this for her, and how much she loved him.

Michael got down on one knee and said “I love you Alyx, will you marry me?”. Filled with excitement, Alyx forgot to say “Yes!” and kissed him instead.

And with that they were engaged! Sealed with the diamond graciously offered by Alyx’s
Grandma, and hand crafted into a unique ring by a jeweler in Hudson that they both love.

Michael had hired a photographer to follow Alyx around the market, and capture all these special moments. From Jacob Alejandro, through the proposal, and moments of
pure bliss afterwards.

James had followed his friend through the market, taking beautiful videos so that Alyx
and Michael could always replay the day.

The photographer was even able to capture Michael and Alyx Facetiming his family in
Australia, who had stayed up until midnight to get the happy news.

Alyx’s mom could not stop crying (from joy) throughout the whole morning – glad that
she no longer had to keep the biggest secret she’d ever been entrusted with!

They of course had to end the morning where it all started JA.
Coincidently where they had their second, second date after not being interested in one
another 4 years prior. Oh, how things change!
