Alyx will still keep her last name, Gleason, and Michael will still keep his last name, Powell, after the wedding.
Although we love everyone's kiddos, we have decided to keep the wedding reception to guests that are 18 years and older. We will have flower girls and ring bearers at the ceremony who will be leaving the venue before the reception starts. If you are traveling in from out of town and are bringing your kids with you, please reach out to us as we would be more than happy to help try to find a suitable baby-sitter for you.
You can wear whatever you want! Most people will dress in cocktail/formal attire.
There are a few different options to get to and from the venue since Ubers and Lyfts are not always readily available. Once we have a better idea of where everyone is staying, we will provide a shuttle schedule closer to Wedding Day. Option #1 – Staying in Hudson near Warren Street If you are staying at a Boutique Hotel/Airbnb in Hudson and are within walking distance of Warren Street, shuttles will be picking up guests at various spots along Warren St and bringing you to the venue for the ceremony. After the reception, shuttles will bring you directly to your accommodation's front door (if you are staying in Hudson), to ensure everyone gets back safely. If you have any questions about if your Airbnb/Hotel can be picked up by the shuttle, please reach out to Alyx before you book. We want to make sure everyone has safe transportation to/from the venue. Option #2 – Staying at the Holiday Inn, Coxsackie If you stay at the Holiday Inn in Coxsackie, where we have a block of rooms, shuttles will pick you up to go to the venue for the ceremony. The shuttles will also bring you back to the hotel at the end of the night. Option #3 – Coming from the Albany Area If you rather come from Albany, there will be a shuttle that will pick you up from the Staybridge Suites on Wolf Road / Colonie Center Mall. A shuttle will be picking up guests to bring them to the venue, and dropping them off to the same location at the end of the night. People who are not staying at the hotel may also park their car at the mall (or catch a ride/Uber/Lyft to this location), and catch the shuttle both ways. Option #4 – Sober and Driving If you are driving to/from the venue because you plan to be sober for the night, there is onsite parking available directly at The Basilica. If you end up drinking more than you anticipated at the wedding, you can always hop on a shuttle back to Albany (Option #3) and Uber/Lyft home from there. You will be able to get your car from The Basilica the next morning.
We kindly ask that you refrain from taking your phones/cameras out during the ceremony. There will be professional photographers and videographers there to capture every moment, and we will gladly share the photos after our big day! We would prefer not to have phones/personal cameras out in our professional photos of the ceremony. Feel free to take all the photos you want before and after the ceremony!
There will be food at cocktail hour, as well as dinner stations during the reception. When you RSVP you will see an option for table service if you wish to remain seated during dinner, and have food brought to you. There will be attentive waitstaff available to all guests that may need assistance. There will assigned tables for everyone to sit and enjoy their meal(s).
