PCH Excursion

There are beach towns strung like pearls along Pacific Coast Highway. One of our favorite things to do is take the Coaster, or drive the coast, starting in Oceanside. Oceanside

Bianca's parents' town just a few mins north of Carlsbad. We love exploring here. There are tons of great breweries, restaurants and waves! Walk to the end of the famous Oceanside Pier. California Surf Museum

The California Surf Museum serves as an international repository and resource center on the lifestyle sport of surfing by capturing, preserving, and chronicling its art, culture and heritage for the education and enjoyment of current and future generations.

Balboa Park

Balboa Park is a 1,200-acre urban cultural park in San Diego, California. In addition to open space areas, natural vegetation zones, green belts, gardens, and walking paths, it contains museums, beautiful botanical gardens, several theaters, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

The Safari Park is an expansive wildlife sanctuary that is home to more than 3,000 animals representing more than 300 species. Its renowned botanical collection represents 3,500 species and 1.75 million specimens. Over half of the Park’s 1,800 acres have been set aside as protected native species habitat. It is very close to Carlsbad in Escondido, California.

Old Town San Diego

Within walking distance there are a great many places to shop and dine with unique merchandise and a quaint atmosphere. Discover Old Town by visiting the many historic sites and learn about San Diego history.

LEGOLAND California

Legoland California is a theme park, miniature park, and aquarium located in Carlsbad, California, based on the Lego toy brand.

San Diego Zoo

The 100-acre (40-hectare) Zoo is home to over 3,500 rare and endangered animals representing more than 650 species and subspecies, and a prominent botanical collection with more than 700,000 exotic plants. It is located just north of downtown San Diego in Balboa Park.

Disneyland Park

Seaport Village

A 14 acre waterfront shopping, dining and entertainment complex recreating a harbor side setting of a century ago. Includes 54 one of a kind shops, 13 casual dining eateries, 4 fine dining waterfront restaurants, and located in close proximity to local hotels. Opened in 1980.

La Jolla

Kayaking tours, Surfing, Snorkeling, Beautiful beach - La Jolla is a smart seaside area, known for its rugged coastline. Trails wind past pine trees and sandstone canyons in Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, while the 2 courses at world-renowned Torrey Pines Golf Course sit atop sea cliffs. La Jolla Cove has sweeping ocean views, and the Shell Beach tide pools are home to anemones and crabs. Posh boutiques and waterfront restaurants dot walkable La Jolla Village.

Mission San Juan Capistrano

Mission San Juan Capistrano, historic landmark and museum, is the Birthplace of Orange County. It was founded more than two hundred years ago as the 7th of 21 missions statewide and features a chapel still standing where Saint Serra once celebrated Mass. Today, it is a town and monument to California’s multi-cultural history with Mission tours, shopping and food.

San Diego Air & Space Museum

San Diego Air & Space Museum is an aviation and space exploration museum in San Diego, California, United States. The museum is located in Balboa Park and is housed in the former Ford Building, which is listed on the US National Register of Historic Places.

The San Diego Museum of Art

The San Diego Museum of Art houses the worlds finest art in America’s Finest City. Located in the heart of Balboa Park, the museum’s nationally renowned collections include Spanish and Italian old masters, South Asian paintings including the Edwin Binney 3rd Collection of Indian paintings, and 19th and 20th century American paintings and sculptures. At The San Diego Museum of Art, exhibition text is always in English and Spanish.

Fleet Science Center

At the science center, you can explore and investigate more than 100 interactive exhibits that pique your curiosity and become immersed in an IMAX film adventure that shows the wonders of the planet—and beyond—in the Eugene Heikoff and Marilyn Jacobs Heikoff Giant Dome Theater. For young science enthusiasts, the Fleet hosts school field trips, science workshops and educational camps.

Torrey Pines State Reserve

Hiking, Hangliding, Parasailing - Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve® is located within San Diego city limits and yet remains one of the wildest stretches of land on our Southern California coast! Because of the efforts and foresight of the people in this area, 1,500 acres of land are as they were before San Diego was developed

Torrey Pines Golf Course

Torrey Pines Golf Course is a 36-hole municipal public golf facility on the west coast of the United States, owned by the city of San Diego, California. Since the late 1960s, Torrey Pines has hosted the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour. Held annually in January or February, the tournament uses both courses for the first two rounds and the South Course for the final two rounds; it was held January 25–28 in 2018 and won by Australian Jason Day. Torrey Pines hosts the San Diego City Amateur Golf Championships every June, and the Junior World Golf Championships every July. It hosted the 2008 U.S. Open on the South Course, won by Tiger Woods in sudden-death after an 18-hole playoff versus Rocco Mediate.
