Question

What is California Casual, Beachy White and/or Tan like? Should I wear shoes? What kind?

Answer

We’re going the non-traditional route - please wear White and/or tan, khaki, beige, etc. Anything in that color family is perfect. Shorts/pants, button down shirt for men. We have a stylish friend breaking out the ol’ linen suit so feel free to indulge. For women - a casual dress, pants/top, onesie situation, skirt, etc. Sandals and shoes are all great. Bare feet on the beach for the ceremony are fine. No heels! You don’t want to get stuck in the sand and the reception is on grass. We don’t expect it to be very cold but keep an eye on the weather and bring a sweater or jacket just in case. It may get chilly down on the beach and at the reception. We can’t have heat lamps per the park rules but we will have indoor dancing.

Ocean Palms Info

Answer

There have been some questions about the Ocean Palms resort as their website is very confusing and isn't showing all the rooms. If you are trying to book and not seeing what you want, please call them and ask before assuming they don't have what you're looking for because they have most all rooms available for us. We are pushing this hotel because a) we want to hang out with you and b) we have toured all the hotels in the area and this one is super nice, cool and you will wish you stayed there. Trust us. So to clarify some questions we have received see the below FAQ's. Also note! When it is showing you the price on the website, the price is your TOTAL amount for ALL nights, not the price per night.

Are there single rooms for 1 or 2 people left at the Ocean Palms?

Answer

There may still be single rooms left - call the hotel to ask about booking.

How private are the bedrooms in the family style suites at the Ocean Palms?

Answer

The suites with multiple bedrooms at the Ocean Palms are literally like mini apartments that have just been remodeled with granite countertops, marble bath, etc. The doors to all of the bedrooms close, and each bedroom has its own TV and closet. In most of these suites the bedrooms have their own bathrooms. There is a living room area with a couch and a full kitchen. Some of the suites have their own private hot tubs.

Are there multiple bathrooms in the larger family style suites at the Ocean Palms?

Answer

YES there are. We have toured the property ourselves and have witnessed rooms with 1, 2, and even 3 bathrooms. if you are not finding the right room for you and your friends/family on their website, simply call them and they can set you up with the right space. The website does not seem to be showing all of the rooms even though they are available.

Will the Beach Day include Lunch?

Answer

The beach day is supposed to be a causal gathering. You are welcome to come and hang with us, or feel free to do something else to explore San Diego. There will not be food provided so please explore the village of Carlsbad and all of its lunch offerings!
