On a nice day, check out Barton Springs pool. The pool itself measures three acres in size, and is fed from underground springs with an average temperature of 68-70 degrees, ideal for year-round swimming. There is a near by park, Zilker Park, where many music festivals are held throughout the year. (ACL, Blues on the Green)
A great place for happy hour. This stretch of street is very unique for it's interior renovated houses with bars inside! Stop by Container bar for some dancing, or Lucille's or Icenhaur's for a great patio experience. There are a multitude of food trucks in this area, which is a great opportunity to get a taste of local (and not so local) cuisine.
This is a tourist staple! So many cool boutiques to shop at, and some good places to eat, grab a coffee, and drink. You will hear live music at some of the outdoor patios, feel free to drop in! There are a couple great hotels you can stop in, and take a look around that also have food and drink. Right around this area, there are some really cute neighborhoods, with some older homes that have amazing architecture. It's another great place to walk around (and run) if you like to!
Recommend going here during the day for live music and cheap bars. Easy Tiger is one of our favorites, Firehouse Lounge (speakeasy, slide the bookshelf), Maggie Mae's for a rooftop experience. If you are up for it, make reservations at Midnight Cowboy for a true speakeasy experience.
About 10-15 min North of Downtown. Great place for the night life, without the hassle of 6th street craziness. A lot of the same bars that you see on 6th street, are also on Rock Rose Ave. There is some great restaurants in this area; including: Culinary Dropout, Cyclone Anyas, Perry's Steakhouse, and North Italia. This is also a good place to go shop and walk around! (But expect to pay top dollar;)
