Abby...with a "Y"?--- This was Andrew's pick up line to me upon first meeting. Because it was a Christmas dress-up party, Andrew was dressed up in an elf costume; I played the simple route, & just put a metal hook in my hair & said I was an "Ornament". Andrew had just came back from England where he was working abroad for a year. He just started living and working in Dallas for about a month. He was visiting Austin staying with his friend Josh, who invited him to the Christmas party. I was "temporarily" living in Austin, finishing my graduate school. I was invited by my friend Susie to this Christmas party before returning home to my family in Utah for the holiday. (You confused yet? ha) Both of us did not know anyone at the party besides our one friend. As soon as he asked me: "Abby, with a Y?" it was history. We talked & joked the entire night. My friend Susie documented the whole thing with her camera...she probably knew even before we did that this was something special. We joked that we were each other's "perfect stranger". Neither of us were staying in Austin much longer, Andrew had to leave to Dallas the next day & I had to leave in a week for home. I thought to myself, how much fun I had & how disappointed I was that I would probably never see him again. But, we kept in contact. Then Andrew said he was coming back to Austin the next weekend to "look at apartments" with Josh. He asked me if he could take me out on an official date before I went back to Utah. AH! Of course I jumped at the idea of him coming back! It was literally the BEST date I have ever been on. He had it all planned out (& fellas, take note) because it made me like him that much more. At the end of the date, we were drinking a smoothie before Andrew had to go back to the airport. I noticed my cheeks were hurting. I told him this, & his response was: "Yeah, mine too. I think it's the smoothie." Little did we know, it was because we were both smiling too much.
