The Pearl Street Mall is located in the heart of downtown Boulder, Colorado. At 4 blocks long, it is easily walkable from end to end giving you easy access to more than 200+ stores lining the street making it a favorite tourist and University of Colorado student destination.
Chautauqua Park
Chautauqua has offered the best in recreational, artistic, and educational activities for over 125 years. Join them for retreats, classical and popular musical performances, film screenings, community festivals, educational talks and more! The main attraction, of course, is the great outdoors – with more than 40 miles of hiking trails to explore, along with Chautauqua’s historic park-like campus with formal gardens.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
While it may be a 1.5 hour drive, trust us - it's worth it! Ranked #2 zoo in the country, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a one-of-a-kind experience, as it's literally built on the side of a mountain. Brandon and Abigail have spent so many of dates surrounded by animals (zoos, aquariums... you name it), so it holds a special place in their hearts. If you have the time, it is highly recommend making the trip for an unforgettable experience.
Denver Zoo
If the Cheyenna Mountain Zoo feels a bit far for your schedule, the Denver Zoo is a wonderful alternative much closer to the city. As one of Colorado’s most vital cultural cornerstones, Denver Zoo is dedicated to providing the communities we serve with an intimate, inspiring and informative first-hand encounter with the wonders of nature. They proudly provide families with an accessible and inviting place to connect with wildlife.
Scenic Drive
Looking for a great fall drive for leaf-peeping, with golden aspens fluttering in the breeze and snow-capped peaks as a backdrop? Or maybe just looking for a head-clearing cruise with views of Boulder from afar? These five spectacular scenic drives will do the trick: the Peak to Peak Byway, Flatirons Vista Loop, Eldorado and Coal Creek Canyons Drive, Farm Trail Scenic Drive, and the Estes and Rocky Mountain Scenic Drive.
Pikes Peak Cog Railway
If you are looking for breathtaking views, the Pikes Peak Cog Railway is an absolute must. This scenic train takes you to the summit of Pikes Peak, where you can soak in sweeping mountain vistas and crisp alpine air. Brandon and Abigail have taken this trip several times and had an absolute blast. It is truly an unforgettable experience, and they cannot recommend it enough!
Garden of the Gods
While you are in the Colorado Springs area checking out the zoo and the Cog Railway, do not miss Garden of the Gods. This stunning natural park features towering red rock formation, easy hiking trails, and plenty of spots perfect for photos or a peaceful break. It is one of their favorite places to connect with nature and soak in that iconic Colorado beauty.
Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre
If you think of Red Rocks Park as just a beautiful place to see a concert, think again! Around you are 738 total acres of deer, dinosaurs, pines and prairie, geological wonders and spectacular vistas. At 6,450 feet above sea level, Red Rocks Park is a unique transitional zone where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains. The diverse environment allows visitors to see plants, birds, and animals of both regions. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a geological phenomenon – the only naturally-occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheater in the world.
