Kayla is a 4th year Doctor of Occupational Therapy student at the University of Florida. She is a mom to a boxer/lab dog named Tobi, who is simultaneously a silly, goofy boy and a grumpy, old man. Kayla enjoys reading, rock climbing, biking, being outdoors, and latin dancing!
Tristan Wu
Groom
Tristan is a biomedical engineer working at a start up medical device company in Atlanta. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is currently pursuing a masters degree in computer science. When he's not working, Tristan enjoys rock climbing, playing video games with the boys, going to trivia nights, and playing basketball.
Kristela Murphy

Kristela is the oldest of the Ramos siblings. She is a wife to the best brother-in-law Kayla could've asked for (Stephen Murphy) and a mom to 2 dogs (Bella and Obi) and to a human baby girl (Olivia)! Kristela graduated from UCF with a bachelors in business administration and works as a realtor in West Central Florida. Kayla and Kristela have come a long way from fighting too often as kids to frequently visiting each other over the years and living together peacefully during Kayla’s fieldwork rotations. Together, Kristela and Kayla share the role of being the sisters with the silly dance moves who are always ready to eat. With Kristela’s wedding expertise as a previous bride, she is excited to show Kayla the ropes and answer all of her questions about wedding planning.
Brandon Wu
Best Man
Brandon is Tristan's favorite brother. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's in information technology. Basically, he is just like Tristan but can deadlift 400lbs, is a way better cook, and is MUCH cooler. As kids, Tristan made up games to play in their yard that made sure he always won, and Brandon was a good sport (most of the time) and kept playing with him. Growing up, the two of them bonded through Boy Scout trips and helping their dad with odd tasks on the weekends (anyone need to bushhog their yard??). Now, the two of them enjoy sharing music, playing video games, and traveling with their family. They also like exploring new passions together, like working out and rock climbing!
Katrina Ramos
Maid of Honor
Katrina (aka Kat/Kayla’s sugar sista) is Kayla’s other older sister, who was fortunate enough to have had to share a room with Kayla for the majority of their childhood. Kayla followed in Kat’s footsteps from middle school to college by going to the same schools and joining the same clubs, which led to Kayla frequently being called “Little Ramos” or “Kat’s little sister”. Kat worked as an ICU nurse for the past 4 years and is now studying to become a CRNA at USF. Kayla has enjoyed having Kat in Gainesville the past 6 years and will miss all of the sleepovers, study sessions, free groceries, and being able to borrow clothes anytime. From proofreading Kayla’s essays in 5th grade to packing up Kayla's apartment for her during Covid and becoming Tobi’s 2nd mom, Kat is always ready to help, making her the perfect maid of honor!
Sean Ramos

Sean is Kayla's little brother and goes to the same middle school that Tristan and Kayla attended. He is one of the funniest people Tristan and Kayla know, which made having him tag along during dates entertaining. Over the years, Sean and Tristan have enjoyed playing Super Smash Bros, discussing anime, and hanging out with Tristan's little cousins. Sean is a big fan of Hamilton and has now watched the musical 5x on Disney+. He has been a life-long self-proclaimed math hater until he discovered his love for math and found a new favorite subject this year. Sean enjoys working out, learning to cook, playing soccer and beating his sisters at ping pong. Tristan is excited to officially become a part of the Ramos family and be Sean's second best brother-in-law (no one can compete with Stephen)!
Hailey Fredriksson

Hailey befriended Kayla in 4th grade when she was one of the new kids at Sacred Heart and together, they were “one of the boys”. Hailey recently graduated PA school at USA and now works as a cardiology PA in Arizona. Since Kayla immigrated to the U.S. on Hailey’s birthday and shares a birthday with Hailey’s mom, Kayla likes to think they were meant to become friends. From playing Rockband and sports together in middle school and Thanksgiving sleepovers/black friday shopping sprees in high school to tailgates and anatomy study sessions in college, Hailey has kept Kayla laughing over the years! Don’t be surprised to see Hailey and Kayla striking their signature pose since middle school at the wedding–Hailey carrying Kayla bridal style.
Jeremy Dodson

Jeremy (aka Duke Basketball's #1 fan) is a civil engineer in Atlanta, GA and is Tristan's current roommate. Jeremy and Tristan met through the Grand Challenges program at Georgia Tech their freshman year, but it wasn't until Jeremy played lock-down defense on Tristan during a pick-up basketball game that they became friends. Tristan and Jeremy have lived together for almost 5 years now (wow)! With his fake plants, candles, and good taste in furniture and throw pillows, Jeremy elevates their apartment beyond the typical college boy aesthetic and makes it feel like home.
Jamie Kulik
Bridesmaid
Jamie and Kayla have known each other since their junior year of college. They were in 2 organizations together, were both pre-OT health science majors, and sat by each other in their U.S. healthcare system class. Eventually, they started carpooling to meetings and events and became roommates for OT school. Jamie and Kayla bond over their love for Taylor Swift and romance novels and having constantly upset tummies. With movie/wine nights, cooking and baking together, living room cram sessions, and lots of outdoor time (walks, bike rides, and rollerblading), Jamie helped Kayla make the peak of covid and OT school stress a lot more bearable!
Ben Weishaar
Groomsman
Ben is a civil engineer near Baltimore, MD, a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, and previous GT concrete canoe team captain. Ben and Tristan became good friends since they lived next to each other during their freshman year and took a lot of the same classes. He is a super smart guy and definitely carried Tristan through differential equations class (Thanks Ben!). Ben loves good food and won the "Best Cook out of the College Roommates" award by split-decision. Ben and Tristan are excited to navigate the wedding planning process together and reunite the gang throughout 2023 for wedding festivities.
Ally Adamek

Ally has been one of Kayla’s best friends since high school. Ally is a lover of books, thrift shopping, and coffee; a mom to 1 dog and 2 3-legged cats (Maddie, Marley, and Maple); and a wife to Nicholas Adamek. She currently works as a barista in Colorado while pursuing a BA in English with a concentration in creative fiction writing. Ally is a true "chronic but iconic" queen– managing never-ending health issues, while maintaining her fun, spunky personality. Kayla lives vicariously through Ally’s constantly changing hair color and tattoos and looks up to Ally and Nick’s loving, happy marriage.
Brennan Vignati

Brennan is an environmental consultant in New York City. Brennan and Tristan lived across the hall from each other freshman year at Georgia Tech and quickly became friends through their love of cooking meats, traveling, and the outdoors. Brennan was the designated grill master at their freshman dorm! Tristan's favorite memory with Brennan is the joint 22nd birthday party (aka the softest party ever) they had right before the pandemic! Brennan has an adventurous spirit and is quite knowledgeable about the state parks of Canada. Ask Brennan to tell you about his experience "riding the rails"!
Brittany Daigle

Brittany has been one of Kayla’s closest friends since 6th grade and was one of Kayla’s roommates for 3 years. They probably could have been better friends earlier on if Kayla and her girl scout troop didn’t try to live out their own Parent Trap camp prank by locking Brittany and her girl scout troop out of their cabin in 4th grade. Brittany is an aerospace engineer and an avid traveler. Brittany has been there during most of Kayla’s favorite memories as a teenager and young adult, including Twilight midnight premiers, middle school and high school sleepovers, concerts, road trips, and fun nights out in college!
Garrett Smiley

During the day, Garrett is the CEO and co-founder of Sora Schools, an innovative middle/high school. At night, he is the terror of Summoner's Rift known as "RamblinShrekt". Garrett is a non-fiction book fiend and is the host of Sora Learning Lab podcast, where he interviews people from fellow educators to venture capitalists. Garrett also lived across the hall from Tristan (shoutout to Howell Residence Hall) during their freshman year of college and bonded over playing basketball, playing video games, and hating dance teams that took up all the space in the gym.
Yenny Wu

Yenny is Tristan’s cousin, who is pretty much like an older sister to Tristan and Brandon. Yenny works as a lawyer in Pensacola and graduated from FSU Law and Tulane University for her Bachelors and Masters degrees. Kayla met Yenny around the same time she met Tristan and was on the basketball, volleyball, and track teams with Yenny. Kayla and Yenny enjoy making fun of Tristan whenever they’re together. From letting 8th grade Tristan and Kayla shadow her at school for a day to always helping Kayla feel extra welcome during family gatherings and trips, Yenny has played a key role in developing Kayla and Tristan’s relationship over the years!
Jermiah Russell

Jermiah is a software developer for Microsoft in Seattle, WA and is Tristan's OG roommate. From dealing with Tristan's constant skype calls with Kayla to listening to Roses by Outkast on repeat, Jermiah lived through it all freshman year and still chose to live with Tristan for the rest of their time at Georgia Tech. In his free time, Jermiah likes to play rugby and video games (he's the G.O.A.T at Rocket League). He also enjoys watching reality TV, including America's hit reality competition show The Circle!
Zoe Reyes

Zoe was one of Kat’s sorority sisters and became Kayla’s first non-health science friend in OT school. Zoe is a big fan of happy hours, thrifting, and watching reality TV. Zoe and Kayla quickly became good friends, often texting and laughing during Zoom lectures with Jamie. Between frequently accidentally matching business pants and polos, being in a lot of group projects together, Zoe always sharing her studying guides, and having joint birthday celebrations, OT school would not be the same for Kayla without Zoe!
Noah Cho

Noah and Tristan were both BME majors at Georgia Tech but never interacted with each other until they met interning at the medical device startup they work for now. Noah and Tristan became friends through the trials and tribulations of working at a startup company. They bond over good food, video games, and rock climbing. Noah has become quite acquainted with Tristan's family, earning the honorary name "Noah Wu" during Tristan's cousin's wedding weekend in Dallas. If you're looking for food recs in Atlanta, Noah is your guy!
