FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Dress code is formal: nice midi to floor-length dresses, dressy pantsuits, and suits and ties. December weather in Pensacola can range from hot (around 80 degrees Fahrenheit) to very cold (around 30 degrees Fahrenheit), so make sure to check the weather and plan accordingly!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP on our website (next tab to the right) by November 20, 2023. The sooner you RSVP, the better! :)

Question

Will dinner be served?

Answer

Yes! The reception will start with cocktail hour (drinks and hors d'oeuvres), followed by an early dinner. A more detailed schedule will be available at the reception. The dinner will be a traditional Chinese-style dinner with numerous food options catered by Tristan's family.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation includes your partner's name or says "and Guest", then yes!

Question

Can I bring my kid(s)?

Answer

Yes! Invitations should include your children's names or your family name. That being said, if you do decide to leave the kids at home/not all members of your party are attending, please RSVP accordingly.

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

For the ceremony: free parking is available across the street from the church at Sacred Heart Cathedral School (parking lot inside the black metal fence and along the side on E Moreno St.). There is also limited street parking in front of the church. For the reception: free parking is available at or nearby the Supposey property. Parking attendants will be present for assistance.

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at least 15-30 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony (1 pm CST) to allow for enough time to find seats and get settled before the procession. Out of town guests, make sure to account for the time difference when making travel plans.

Question

Can I take pictures/videos during the ceremony?

Answer

We are opting for an unplugged ceremony and kindly request for no pictures or videos to be taken on personal devices during the ceremony. As with any Catholic mass, cell phones must be on silent. This will allow everyone to be fully present for the ceremony and make sure our photographers and videographers can get the best shots. We will have 4 professional photographers and videographers to document our big day, and we will make sure to share all photos and videos with our guests!! Everyone is welcome to take pictures and videos during the reception! If you post on social media, please use our wedding hashtag #ADreamComeWu so we can easily look back on the memories!

Question

What do I do during the ceremony if I’m not Catholic?

Answer

For non-Catholics, attending a mass can be confusing if you don’t know what’s happening. The congregation sings songs, recites prayers, listens attentively, and responds to the priest together, with a lot of transitions between sitting, standing, and kneeling. A ceremony program will be provided and our priest will provide some instructions to help guide our non-Catholic guests during the mass. Here is a general outline of what happens during a Catholic mass: https://smcaustin.org/outline-of-the-roman-catholic-mass. If anything, just look around and try to follow what people are doing, while remaining quiet and respectful :)

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We will be having a modified open bar for the cocktail hour and reception that will serve beer, wine, seltzers, and signature cocktails!
