The saga of the "2 of Harts" is like stepping into a TARDIS—bigger on the inside. Not just one love story but three, spanning every kind of love: the story of a sister and a brother who love each other very much. It’s the story of two friends who became soulmates. And it’s the story of two people who fell in love. Peter is the youngest of the Hart siblings, who felt more like each other’s companions in time and space than bickering brothers and sisters. Their closeness was apparent from their annual sibling pilgrimage to San Diego Comic Con. In classic little brother fashion, Peter dressed up like a TARDIS to match Maggie and Sean’s costumes, even though he had never seen an episode. Nothing stops Peter from showing up for the people he loves, even when a BBC reporter asks him a bunch of questions about a show he’s never seen. In 2019, Brittany was working at a production company in Kansas City. She walked into the office kitchen one day to see a TARDIS-shaped tea maker in the dish dryer. When she discovered that it belonged to the new editor, Maggie (Peter’s sister), the two became fast friends. They bonded over many things (including their shared love of Dr. Who) and in a very timey-wimey fashion, it felt like they had been best friends for years. When the company uprooted from Kansas City to California, she and Brittany decided to road trip together, naturally stopping in Maggie’s hometown, Boulder, CO, along the way. In Boulder, Brittany met Maggie’s family, including her brothers Sean and Peter. They joined Sean’s long-standing weekly Bible study and enlisted Peter’s acclaimed sound engineer skills on a music video for Brittany. Brittany seamlessly blended with the Hart family, as if she’d been chosen by the universe as their latest companion. During Covid lockdowns, Brittany and Maggie stayed connected to their Boulder community through virtual Bible studies and family Zoom calls, letting Brittany grow close to the entire Hart family. Meanwhile, quarantine led Peter to dive into the Doctor Who series, deepening his bond with Brittany as he explored her favorite universe. By June 2020, Maggie missed Colorado like The Doctor misses Gallifrey. Brittany readily agreed to join, starting their new adventure together. As soon as they arrived in Colorado they started having TV nights where Peter would regularly attend. After about 8 months of hanging out, Brittany was also thinking there might be some romantic potential there. In August of 2021, they all went on a road-trip to Idaho. Maggie literally took a backseat to Brittany and Peter’s blossoming romance as the two shared stories and got to know each other on a deeper level during 14 hours of driving. (Author's note: yes, Maggie was exploding at this point. Of course she wanted Peter and Brittany to be together, but she also didn’t want to pressure them. It was nearly impossible for the entire community to stand aside and let this naturally unfold, but unfold we let it, and we all did a very good job.😉) Brittany and Peter’s attraction only grew as they pursued more musical interests. Peter is a talented recording engineer, and Brittany a talented singer-songwriter. As they collaborated on a few songs, it became clear just how well they work together. In November 2021, Brittany and Peter finally cleared the air over coffee, admitting their feelings and deciding to see where dating would take them. Their announcement elicited screams and celebrations from the entire Hart family, who couldn’t contain themselves at seeing Peter and Brittany hold hands around the Thanksgiving table. Three years later, through dating, engagement, and their upcoming wedding, it’s now clear where their companionship will take them: Next stop, everywhere.
