Our family loves to cook, and we love to enjoy what we cook with the people we love. Six years ago, my mom and I decided that we wanted more control over the quality and freshness of the ingredients we use in our home-cooked meals. So we started growing our own. To keep our small farm alive, we began selling our beyond organic produce in local farmers' markets. Turns out...we enjoy sharing our food with just about everybody. That passion for sharing delicious responsibly made food, paired with over 50 years of professional event coordinating experience, led us to where we are now: curating special dining experiences for people like you.

We want you to have more control over the quality of the food you share with the people you love too, even when it means feeding a lot of them! The food we grow is used only for the meals we cook for ourselves and the meals we cook for you and your event. All of our ingredients are sourced responsibly and from local partner farms whenever possible. We are looking forward to your event! Monte Shalett, Owner

    It has been a wonderful experience every time I've worked with Monte and Merit on a catering menu. Monte is always quick to respond and to consider every aspect of the event in the menus, and they give such attention to detail, from proposal to tasting to the event itself. They're always up for experimenting with dishes to accommodate dietary restrictions or family preferences. The food is delicious and they have very creative ideas for presentation, so it looks great as well!

    We decided to work with Monte after having his food at a pop up in New Orleans. His classic dishes were a hit with all of our guests, even the picky eaters. We had a salad bar, shrimp and grits, and bacon wrapped dates that were everything we wanted in appetizers. We worked with Monte to make sure we were meeting an extra high standard of safety: reducing servers, making sure servers had proper PPE, making sure guests only touch their own plates, and using compostable disposables. They even accommodated my food allergies and made me a special dish so I could enjoy what my guests were having. If you're looking for an easy-going chef with great classic dishes who's willing to work with you on the details, I couldn't recommend Monte more.
