Hey, hi and holy moly HELLO! My name is Alexandra. First of all, I am so grateful that you are even here! I am a mom, with mom jokes for days. I am a lover of natural light, flowers, and the moon. Don’t forget coffee, I love that too (cannot function without it). I am an art history buff, I love to draw, and I have always been artistically inclined since I was in grade school. I believe that my calling in life was to create and to bring people together. Photography helps me do both of these things that bring me such joy. Photography has been a strong passion for both myself and my husband, Doug, for many years! In fact we bonded and fell in love over our shared love of photography (as well as our artistic backgrounds, love of camping and hiking, and our desire to go on many adventures! ). I spent my first year after college in New York City working as the Creative Director for a startup in the fast-paced world of entrepreneurship. However, it inspired me to return to my roots, prepared to build my own independent photography business.

I grew up with three brothers, (two older, one younger) Yes I loved to do all the girl things, like play barbies, go shopping, and get my nails painted, but behind all that was a girl who loved soccer down to my bones. I was about sixteen years old I was gifted a camera, and that quickly became a part of me.When I was just out of high school I met and fell in love with my best friend, we were married a year and a half later. We quickly began a family, because not only did I have a passion for photography, I also so badly, with all of my being wanted to be a mom.

As a kid, I asked for a camera for every Christmas and birthday, and finally got a Canon Rebel T3i in 2010 - my Sophomore year of high school. That baby was my prized possession and I rarely left the house without it. I became the yearbook photographer and editor that year and began taking photography classes my Junior year. I ventured off to Central Michigan University in an attempt of becoming a photojournalist. Once I realized journalism wasn't for me, I dropped out and headed back to my hometown of Kalamazoo, which ended up with my finding my sidekick and husband, Micah!

I am both experienced and innovative. I am able to pose you in ways which are natural and complimentary. I have found that each event I have photographed has presented a unique moment in time; a child eyeing the wedding cake, a groom tearing up when he sees his bride for the first time, or other candid moments. My style is traditional/classical and I tend to shy away from photographic techniques which are trendy and will not stand the test of time. I use state of the art camera and lenses as well as software to provide beautiful images. Your great grandchildren will love my images.
