I’m a photographer, a teacher, sometimes a musician, and an incredibly lucky husband. I’m always asked how I got into wedding photography. Well, my Dad taught photography, and he got me into it. The more I thought I about it, I remembered our family get-togethers when we would all sit around and watch a family slideshow (on actual slides!). Fast forward to a few years later. A friend of mine asked me to photograph his elopement, and in looking at the photos afterward, I was hit with a wave of emotions. I understood why my Dad always had a camera, and why we sat around at Christmas or some other holiday and watched slides of everyone together.

As a wife, I most enjoy photographing the beauty of two people making life-long commitment to one another. Growing up, I've witnessed different examples of marriage, the good and not as good. Marriage is difficult, but it is a most worthy endeavor. This is where my heart lies for the work I get to do: I love documenting the first day of the legacy of love. It's beautiful in so many ways and a privilege to be invited to take part in the wedding day.

My life revolves around a desire to reflect the beauty of family in my roles as a wife, mother and entrepreneur. I am a free spirit and love being able to be apart of every beautiful beginning. I am a Pennsylvania native. My grandmother gave me my first camera for my 8th birthday. I grew up in Malvern and received my BA in Advertising from Penn State University (and briefly minored in Photography). After graduating I moved to Philadelphia and worked in advertising. My advertising career took me to sales and then into the logistics field. During this time I continued to enjoy photography as a hobby and as my skills improved I began freelancing for The Town Dish, Chester County Hospital, West Chester University, Weber Gallagher, and the West Chester Parks and Recreation Department.

Most days you can find me dancing in the kitchen with my husband John, exploring trails of a local park, watching Netflix, soaking in as many puppy cuddles as our little dachshund Addi will allow, or editing away with the biggest glass of green tea by my side. I am a believer holding hands after 50 years of marriage, snuggling up on the couch even if it’s a little too small, kisses goodnight no matter how late, and holding on tight to the thought of forever.

Do you ever want to freeze a moment or reimagine an entire day? Your first moments alone together as husband and wife before the reception. Your maid of honor's hilarious but sentimental speech. I've been working professionally since 2010. I'm a wife, believer, teacher, and gardener, and I would say I'm crunchy(ish). You can often find me with a Starbucks refresher in hand or stuffing my face with pizza. Most days, I don't even bother wearing makeup and love to be outdoors getting my hands dirty or basking in the sun with a good book. Speaking of good books, one of my favorite spots to go is the library and when I'm not there, I love to roam around Terrain or a greenhouse. I dream of a simple life and am enjoying pursuing that with my husband.

My favorite images are almost always the moments through your wedding day that happen organically. I love the moment that the bride and groom see each other for the first time, whether that is before the ceremony or when the bride walks down the aisle. If you decide to see each other before the ceremony, I will set you up in a spot with great light, and then shoot from afar with a long lens. This is your moment and not one that should be posed or interfered with. Of course, there will be some posed photos throughout the day, but I promise that you will not be smiling at the camera for lengthy periods of time.
