New Orleans is a highly sought-after wedding destination, especially during peak seasons (October–November and March–May). We recommend booking your venue 12–18 months in advance to secure your preferred date and location.
If you're planning a wedding during shoulder seasons (January–February or June–August), you may have more flexibility and could book 6–9 months ahead. However, popular neighborhoods like the French Quarter, Garden District, and Uptown fill up quickly year-round.
Early booking also gives you time to lock in your caterer, photographer, and other key vendors, which tend to book up alongside venues. If your dream date is approaching, it's still worth calling—cancellations do happen, and some venues keep last-minute availability for flexible couples.
New Orleans offers distinct neighborhoods, each with its own wedding charm:
French Quarter: Historic, atmospheric, and iconic. Perfect for couples wanting classic New Orleans architecture, proximity to dining and nightlife, and that romantic, centuries-old vibe.
Garden District: Elegant antebellum mansions, oak-lined streets, and upscale sophistication. Ideal for formal affairs and those seeking a refined, Southern aesthetic.
Uptown: Vibrant, eclectic, and cultural. Home to universities, galleries, and creative spaces—great for couples who want personality and a less formal atmosphere.
Marigny & Bywater: Artsy, bohemian, and indie. Perfect for creative couples, live music lovers, and those seeking intimate, neighborhood-focused venues.
Riverside locations: Venues near the Mississippi River or City Park offer stunning natural backdrops and photo opportunities.
Each area has distinct character and pricing. Consider your guest experience, preferred aesthetic, and budget when choosing your neighborhood.
