St. Andrew's Episcopal Church (aka Old St. Andrew's) was designed by architect Robert S. Schuyler in the Gothic Revival style. Schuyler also designed St. Peter's Church in Fernandina, built in 1881, as well as chapels in Waldo, Fairbanks, Pablo Beach, and Lake Santa Fe. St. Andrew's was built in 1887 on a single level using brick masonry and contained a massive front corner tower with louvered belfry and steep spire roof. It stood at 317 Florida Avenue, now 317 A. Phillip Randolph Boulevard. St. Andrew's was the only major church in the city that survived the Great Fire of 1901.

Yes. The San Marco neighborhood is particularly appealing for budget-conscious couples seeking that urban, curated aesthetic. Known for its tree-lined streets and historic charm, San Marco hosts San Marco Preservation Hall, rated 5.0/5. This blank-canvas venue lets you design the exact wedding you envision without overpaying for built-in décor.
Riverside is another downtown-adjacent gem offering vibrant energy and walkable charm. Both neighborhoods feature locally-owned caterers, florists, and vendors, which can help you negotiate package deals and reduce overall costs.
These areas position you close to St. Johns River views, historic landmarks, and the energy of central Jacksonville—all without the premium pricing you'd find in more touristy coastal neighborhoods. Couples consistently save by choosing downtown venues over beach alternatives.
San Marco Preservation Hall stands out with a perfect 5.0/5 rating. Couples praise its versatility as a blank canvas, allowing total creative control. "San Marco Preservation Hall was the ideal venue for our wedding...it allowed us to transform the space," one guest shared.
All4One Farms earns 5.0/5 and starts at $2,500. A recent couple noted: "We had our wedding here in September 2024 and it beyond met our expectations. The venue itself was so beautiful."

All three deliver exceptional service and atmosphere without inflated pricing.
Book during off-peak months. Jacksonville's subtropical climate means summer (June–August) can be humid and rainy—venues offer better rates during these slower periods. Consider September through November or February through April for comfortable weather and lower pricing.
Choose neighborhoods strategically. Venues in Riverside and San Marco command lower rates than beachfront properties in Neptune Beach or Ponte Vedra. You'll still capture Jacksonville's character without coastal premiums.
Negotiate package deals with your venue. Many affordable Jacksonville venues are flexible on bar minimums, catering partnerships, and décor fees when you book multiple services. Ask what they can waive or reduce.
Go blank-canvas when possible. Venues like San Marco Preservation Hall start low because you bring in your own vendors—saving the venue markup on florals, catering, and rentals. This approach rewards DIY couples with significant savings across the board.
Finding an affordable venue starts with understanding what's realistic in your market. According to Zola marketplace data across 50 US cities, affordable venues have a median starting price of $2,500—41% lower than the overall median of $4,270. Here are proven strategies to maximize your budget:
- Search intentionally: Use specific terms like "affordable" or "inexpensive" rather than browsing all options. Many budget-friendly venues get overlooked when you're not filtering strategically.
- Consider day-of-week timing: Venues often offer lower rates for Friday or Sunday weddings compared to Saturdays, sometimes saving hundreds of dollars.
- Explore unconventional spaces: Look beyond traditional banquet halls—parks, community centers, farms, and lofts frequently offer lower starting prices.
- Negotiate packages: Some venues are flexible on pricing, especially during their slower seasons or for smaller guest counts.
- Check what's included: A lower starting price matters less if you're charged separately for tables, linens, and service staff. Compare total costs, not just base rates.
The price range for affordable venues spans $1,200 to $3,850 across the country, so options exist at various budget levels depending on your location and needs.
For a 100-guest wedding in Jacksonville, you can expect to spend between $24,600 and $36,900, according to the Zola Wedding Cost Index. This is notably higher than the national median of $25,000, reflecting Jacksonville's growing popularity as a wedding destination.

- Bar services: $3,121
- Photography and videography: roughly $5,100 combined
Venues typically account for about 16% of your total budget. Based on Zola marketplace data, Jacksonville venue rental prices range from $1,000 to $5,440, giving you flexibility at different price points.
Venue capacity should align with your guest count and overall budget. Here's what to expect at different sizes:
- 50 guests: $14,900–$22,300 total budget
- 100 guests: $24,600–$36,900 total budget
- 150 guests: $33,700–$50,600 total budget
- 200 guests: $41,800–$62,800 total budget
Jacksonville offers venues that can accommodate intimate gatherings and large celebrations alike. When evaluating spaces, consider not just guest capacity but also flow—whether you'll have separate cocktail, dining, and dancing areas. Smaller venues in Riverside or San Marco work well for 50–100 guests, while larger estates and waterfront properties along the St. Johns River can handle 150+ comfortably.
