St. Andrew's Episcopal Church (aka Old St. Andrew's) was designed by architect Robert S. Schuyler in the Gothic Revival style. Schuyler also designed St. Peter's Church in Fernandina, built in 1881, as well as chapels in Waldo, Fairbanks, Pablo Beach, and Lake Santa Fe. St. Andrew's was built in 1887 on a single level using brick masonry and contained a massive front corner tower with louvered belfry and steep spire roof. It stood at 317 Florida Avenue, now 317 A. Phillip Randolph Boulevard. St. Andrew's was the only major church in the city that survived the Great Fire of 1901.

We recommend booking your Jacksonville venue 12 to 18 months in advance, especially if you're planning a wedding during peak season (April through October). Popular neighborhoods like Riverside, Avondale, and Ponte Vedra see high demand during these months, and top venues book quickly.
If you're flexible with your date or planning a winter wedding (November–March), you may find availability with 6 to 9 months' notice. However, securing your venue early gives you more flexibility with guest count, catering partners, and other vendors. Jacksonville's growing wedding market means desirable dates fill up faster than they used to, so early planning pays off.
Jacksonville's most popular wedding neighborhoods each have distinct appeal:
- Riverside & Avondale: Historic charm, tree-lined streets, and charming estates perfect for elegant celebrations
- San Marco: Upscale atmosphere with access to boutique venues and sophisticated dining options
- Ponte Vedra: Coastal elegance and resort-style venues along pristine beaches
- Neptune Beach & Atlantic coastline: Waterfront venues with ocean views and relaxed, beachy vibes
Many couples also choose venues near the St. Johns River or the Jacksonville Arboretum for scenic backdrops and outdoor ceremony options. Your choice depends on your style—whether you want historic Southern charm, modern waterfront elegance, or laid-back coastal sophistication. Each area offers unique vendor networks and guest experiences.
