Our names are Craig and Nancy Rogge, and we have lived on and owned this property for almost 40 years. We have raised two children here and have used our barns and property all these years to raise horses, cows, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, and dogs. We have many years of wonderful memories and stories on our little piece of paradise! Our barns were built in 1944 by a previous owner, Walter Kurzweil, who our street is named after and who used the property and barns for a dairy farm. Fast forward to 2021, when we began The Rogge Family Vineyard and Event Space, our hope has been and still is to offer a private party rental space rich in rustic barn charm for the hosting of your joyful and memorable event.

Most Kansas City barn venues offer blank-canvas flexibility, allowing you to bring in your own décor, lighting designers, and floral arrangements to match your vision. Exposed wood beams and high ceilings make it easy to add string lights, chandeliers, or draped fabric without heavy restrictions. Many venues permit outside caterers and bar services, giving you control over your menu and beverage budget. Keep in mind that Kansas City's summer heat and occasional spring storms make climate control important—ask whether your barn has heating, air conditioning, or backup indoor space. Some venues include tables, chairs, and basic setup, while others operate as true DIY spaces where you'll coordinate all rentals. Restrictions typically focus on open flames, confetti, and noise curfews, especially at venues near residential areas like Brookside or south of Loose Park.
Most barn wedding venues include essential structural décor like exposed wooden beams, rustic architectural details, and often string lighting or chandeliers as part of the base rental. Many provide farm tables, cross-back chairs, and basic linens, though inventory varies significantly by property.
What you'll typically need to add yourself includes centerpieces, florals, signage, and personalized touches like table numbers or place cards. Some barns offer preferred vendor lists or in-house coordination to help with these customizations.
Barn venues on Zola's marketplace have a median starting price of around $4,500, which is about 12% higher than the overall venue median. This premium often reflects the unique aesthetic value and built-in ambiance that reduces your decorating workload. Before signing, ask specifically what's included in your rental package versus what counts as an add-on, since some venues bundle décor items while others charge separately for tables and chairs.
