Traverse City is known for its beautiful wineries and scenic views. Spend an afternoon exploring Old Mission or Leelanau Peninsula and enjoy tastings with stunning lake views. Bonobo Winery – modern vibe with beautiful bay views Mari Vineyards – stunning architecture + unique wines Chateau Chantal – classic winery experience with amazing scenery Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery – gorgeous grounds (and lavender fields in season!) Beaches and Lake Michigan
Relax on the beach, swim in the crystal-clear water, or catch a sunset along Lake Michigan. It’s the perfect way to unwind during the weekend. Clinch Park Beach – right downtown with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the marina West End Beach – a local favorite with soft sand and great views Bryant Park Beach – a quieter, peaceful spot perfect for relaxing Mission Point Lighthouse – located at the tip of Old Mission Peninsula with beautiful views of the water and shoreline

Downtown Traverse City is one of our favorite places—full of amazing food, cute shops, and lake views. Whether you’re grabbing brunch, dinner, or drinks, you really can’t go wrong! Brunch and Coffee: Sugar 2 Salt – brunch favorite (get there early!) The Towne Plaza – cute, local brunch spot BLK MRKT Coffee – great coffee + aesthetic vibes Folgarelli’s Market & Wine Shop – amazing sandwiches (one of our favorites) Chef’s Inn – perfect grab-and-go options Dinner: The Cooks’ House – cozy, upscale, and perfect for a special night out Trattoria Stella – romantic Italian in a unique historic setting Red Ginger – sushi + Asian fusion with a modern vibe Apache Trout Grill – waterfront dining with beautiful sunset views The Boathouse Restaurant – upscale dining with water views Poppycock’s – cozy, long-time local favorite Taproot Cider House – cider + small plates Slabtown Burgers – casual, must-try burgers Sleder’s Family Tavern – historic spot with character
Outdoor Adventures
If you’re feeling adventurous, there are so many ways to explore the beauty of Traverse City and the surrounding area: Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore – breathtaking views, hiking trails, and must-see overlooks Old Mission Peninsula – scenic drives, overlooks, and vineyard views TART Trail – perfect for biking or walking along the water Grand Traverse Bay – great for kayaking, paddleboarding, or relaxing by the water
Day Trip to Leland
If you have a little extra time, we highly recommend taking a short drive from Traverse City to the charming town of Leland. Known for its historic Fishtown, Leland is a picturesque lakeside village filled with weathered fishing shanties, local shops, and beautiful views of Lake Michigan. Fishtown – walk along the docks, explore shops, and take in the views Van’s Beach – perfect for a peaceful walk or sunset along Lake Michigan If you make the trip to Leland, you have to stop at Village Cheese Shanty 🧀 This iconic little shop in Fishtown is known for its amazing sandwiches, fresh ingredients, and laid-back, local charm. It’s the perfect spot to grab lunch and enjoy it by the water. Tip: It’s very popular—so expect a line, but it’s absolutely worth it 🤍 It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed afternoon, photos, and soaking in the charm of Northern Michigan 🤍
Cherry Republic | Traverse City
A trip to Cherry Republic is a must while you’re in town! Known for all things cherry (Traverse City is the Cherry Capital 🍒), this spot offers everything from chocolate-covered cherries and cherry salsa to wine, soda, and fun gifts to take home. You can sample different products, grab a snack, or just browse and enjoy the experience. It’s a fun and easy stop while exploring downtown—or a great place to pick up something sweet before heading home 🤍
