Lamees Dahbour, the owner of Mama Lamees, is of Palestinian origin and was born and raised in Kuwait. The origin of her cooking comes from her mother's Kitchen, where she learned to cook since she was 10 years old. Mama Lamees puts her talent, love, and passion for cooking, and instills those same values in her children. Mama Lamees, along with Reem's, is part of the La Cocina family, where Mohammad and Zaynah first started working together. A proud Oakland resident, I was born in the Philippines and grew up in Milpitas, California, daughter and granddaughter of Pilipino immigrants. I am a queer-identified Pilipina who pushes social and political boundaries to convey images through portraits, fine art, and documentary projects. Aja Greene is a local independent baker and jewelry artist who is also a member of famed Bay Area Arizmendi Cooperative. Aja also used to work with Zaynah and Mohammad at the Reem's farmers markets.
