Zaynah and Mohammad met in 2016 when they both worked for local Arab street food company Reem's at a couple weekly farmers markets, making mana'eesh and singing and dancing to Arab tarab classics. After a few months, Mohammad left Reem's and moved on to work on project with his friend Samir and that was the end of that. Until over a year later when our co-worker Eli discovered Mohammad was hosting his very first pop up dinner with Feastly. Eli and Zaynah bought tickets and went to the dinner, intent on convincing Mohammad to come back to Reem's. A few weeks later, Mohammad joined the Reem's team once again...
Many a late-night dinner service and ride home later, Zaynah and Mohammad discovered their mutual passions for dabkeh and indie Arabic music, and, of course, all things FOOD. After losing a friendly work bet, Mohammad had to buy Zaynah dinner. They went out for the first time on their own -- as coworkers, of course -- to SF institution Mission Chinese, and managed to carry on a conversation the whole evening without too many awkward silences. After that, they started Burger Wednesdays, taking turns introducing one another to their favorite burgers around the Bay and then checking out new burger spots together. As we know, the way to an Arab's heart is through their stomach, and so, over brioche buns and crispy fries, began the love story of Zaynah and Mohammad...
