Sawtooth is our family vacation home located less than 30 minutes from downtown Hartsville, SC where we recommend staying. Please do not type in "Sawtooth Plantation" as it will not pop up in your GPS. Search “Carolina Sandhills Wildlife Refuge” 23734 U.S. Rte 1, McBee, SC 29101 should show up. Just follow the wedding signage from there. From the refuge sign you will drive down Refuge Visitor's Drive, then turn right onto Old Wire Road and follow that dirt road all the way to the property's entrance gate on the right. It has two black iron dogs by it. Just keep following the signs! Parking is beyond the gate in the designated parking field.
We are asking that guests wear a fall-colored clothing pallet. Think scarlet reds, rust orange, golden yellows, dark forest green, warm browns and black. And a PSA that stilettos and the Carolina Sandhills terrain do not mix! Ladies, please wear chunky heels and boots, even of the cowgirl variety! It will be chilly once the sun sets, fur coats and warm attire for night time are encouraged. We will have some blankets and heaters on site. If planning on staying for the afterparty bring a comfy and warm change of clothes (think camping-style! Camo encouraged!!)
No, they will not take you to or pick you up from this remote location. Please have a designated driver!
Yes, we will have a field dedicated as our parking lot.
Guest list is closed to only those directly invited.
The closest airports are Columbia, SC or Charlotte, NC.
We have an entire tab dedicated to this topic under "Travel", however it is recommended that you stay in a Hartsville hotel (the closest town). There are also plenty of Air BnBs scattered nearby.
We will be hosting a Chuckwagon Dinner. This is a hardy, cowboy-style dinner with meats cooked over an open flame & cut freshly onto your plate along with charcuterie, salad bar and some good 'ol southern sides. Cake will be the prettiest you've ever seen!
Nuff said.
