We met at Northern Michigan University when Dane was a Sophomore and Katie was a Freshman. Dylan, Dane's suitemate actually brought us together. After one night of playing cards against humanity together, we instantly connected...but not romantically. We spent the remainder of freshman year as friends, dating other people, but always hanging out. We were even each others "gold heart" on snapchat for awhile. When we came back to school the next year we were both single and living right across the hall from each other. We were still in the same friend group and same major as each other. We would walk to class together in the mornings and go to the cafeteria for breakfast afterwards. We'd get each other Starbucks incase one of us...typically Dane was going to be late for class. We'd make the hike over to Bluff Street together and we'd get F'reals from Cat-tracks on the way back. Come December 3rd of 2019 and it was a official. We spent the rest of our college experience living a block apart...also unplanned, debating on whether BlackRock's or Ore Dock was better, going Disc Golfing, drinking Big Cups from Remis, and eating lots of Third Street Bagel. When it came time to graduate we landed on Texas. Houston actually, and thank god it ended up being Dallas. Now our life is filled with our little babies (Ralph and Elouise) and quite nights on the couch. However, we do enjoy a warm Texas night paired with Andy's ice cream, taking the dogs for a walk and a pup cup, finding the best burger in Dallas...we are getting close, driving an hour to see some dirt-track racing, and hitting up the movies...when and if a good movie gets released. Our life is the perfect mix of calm and chaos. Our relationship started on a years worth of friendship and it is something we choose to put first in our relationship now. Never taking each other too seriously, spending time together, making fun of each other, and taking our time building the life we want. We are so grateful for everyone we have met along the way, and everyone in our lives.
