FAQs

The Wedding Website of Amy Anfinrud and Zachary Teter
Question

Why a wedding cruise?

Answer

I think that's a pretty self explanatory answer for the world traveling oceanographer. I've always dreamed of that 'destination wedding' and the cruise wedding is such a special way to make it happen! Not only this- I've always looked forward to having all my loved ones in one place for my future wedding, doing it this way-I get you for 5 days instead of one! Zach's family has done a cruise before as a family vacation and it was a massive hit. Outside of our wedding talks, they were discussing having another family cruise next June... and we looked at each other and thought "PERFECT" and here we are.

Question

Do I Need a Passport?

Answer

We are highly recommending it, but technically, no. If you do not have a Passport, you NEED 1. proof of citizenship (the original or CERTIFIED copy of your birth certificate) and 2. identification (driver’s license); US citizens under 16 years old do not need a driver’s license, just the proof of citizenship. If you are a citizen of a country outside the U.S., please check with the consulate of your country to determine exactly what is needed to visit the United States and the Bahamas.

Question

Where do I book the Royal Caribbean Cruise?

Answer

Here! PLEASE book through the link below so you can be added to our wedding block! https://amyandzach.sailawayweddingcruises.com/

Question

Can I book the cruise directly through Royal Caribbean, or through a 3rd Party?

Answer

Nope! We locked in a low cost price for you all, and reserved interiors, oceanviews, and balconies. Its a limited number of rooms, so we recommend putting in your deposit early to lock it in. If we run out of your room of choice, we can still get you on, however pricing may be more expensive.

Question

Cruise Costs & Payments FAQs

Answer

There is a $100 REFUNDABLE Deposit, and payment plans available. Final payment does not need to be made until March 1, 2026. These are specifically for 2 people rooms. Cost will vary for 'family' staterooms more than 2 people, and our coordinator at Sailaway Wedding Cruises (https://amyandzach.sailawayweddingcruises.com/) will work with you directly to lock in an affordable rate and manually add you to the wedding blocks. Lisa is available to you to help answer questions and coordinate bookings, along with strategize the best way to save the most money! The stateroom cost, taxes, and gratuity includes ALL lodging and food for the week! There is not need to purchase add-ons but alcohol packages, specialty restaurants, and the spa include additional fees, which you are welcome to partake in none or all you want! We locked in a limited number of staterooms at our special rate so we highly recommend putting down the deposit earlier than later to guarantee your room and rate.

Question

Is there Childcare Onboard the Ship?

Answer

YES! Onboard Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas, childcare includes the complimentary Adventure Ocean youth program for ages 3 and up (must be toilet-trained) and a paid, drop-off Royal Babies and Tots Nursery for children aged 6 months to 3 years, located on Deck 12. The Adventure Ocean program divides children into age-specific groups with organized activities, while the nursery offers supervised play and group babysitting sessions for a fee, with times available in the daily schedule.

Question

What if I want to come alone?

Answer

If you want to come alone and have a stateroom to yourself, the cost is 200% of the prices reflected on the sail away wedding cruise website. Sail Away Wedding cruises CAN pair you with a roommate to save money, so please reach out to them and let them know that and there are a few clever things they can do to - A. room you with another wedding guest, or B. Manipulate some family/kid placements to allow a room to yourself. Lisa will be able to assist with that, contacting earlier than later is best!

Question

I want to come but I can't afford it

Answer

Hey there! We cannot stress this enough, we would LOVE to have you there, and we have lined up some resources to help make it possible. We completely understand that this is quite a sacrifice, and we are honored with your efforts! We will hold no hurt if you have to decline this invite. It's a monetary cost and a time cost and we know that! To make things easier, there is a $100 deposit that is completely refundable and payment plans available. Final payments don't have to be made until March 1, 2026. We will also offer to pair you with a roommate if you are a solo traveler. If this is something you want to make happen and want to toss around ideas, please reach out to Zach or Amy! We also want you to know as this is considered a 'destination' wedding, we aren't expecting everyone to be able to make it (though that would be epic!) So we are planning small celebrations in Michigan, North Dakota, and Tennessee after our wedding which we hope you will be able to come to if you cannot make the wedding! We will be filming the ceremony and will be excited to reminisce and share highlights and celebrate with you when the time rolls around.

Question

I have questions about the cruise!

Answer

Yep! This is a very unique event we are planning, and I would love to direct you to the wedding cruise website which has a dedicated FAQs page and contact to the cruise experts who are at your disposal! Link here: https://amyandzach.sailawayweddingcruises.com/

Question

Why is this same link everywhere?

Answer

Because this is the single resource that we would like you to use to 1. save money, and 2. save a headache for our wedding planner who is booking all of us together to sit together at dinner every night, have rooms next to each other, etc. Here it is one more time: https://amyandzach.sailawayweddingcruises.com/
