Meet Our Wedding Party!

Check out a few stories about our nearest and dearest!

Caitlin Anderson

Matron of Honor

If you know Cait, you know me. We see most things through the same lens, & we often find ourselves exchanging a single glance & knowing exactly what the other is thinking. Zach & Trenton even made a drinking game of it once- taking a swig every time they witnessed one of these "side eyes" take place. Ask them how that turned out! Ten years ago we worked together at a place we affectionately called the "hell hole". Countless times since then, Cait's been there to catch a subtle look, understand my brain, or know what I need in any situation. Lucky for me, she's agreed to do the same wedding day! After all, she called it the FIRST time I told her about Z. Without me saying much at all yet, she blurted out, "OH MY GOD! YOU'D BE BECCA BERGER!" And, not surprisingly... she was right.

Pinto (Aaron) Gray

Best Man

My first roommate in college, Pinto, is one of my oldest and best friends. As I was heading off to college, my mom prayed for me to get a roommate that I’d get along with. She’ll tell you that after meeting Pinto, she may have prayed a little too much. Pinto and I bonded over Pink Floyd, video games, and an immense amount of shit-talking. We tortured resident assistants and frat bros alike. We won intramural championships & bets over Nintendo 64. We annoyed every girl either of us were involved with, and its nothing short of a miracle that we’re both with ladies who tolerate us. He’d never admit it, but beneath his biting sense of humor Pinto is one of the most caring, funny and genuine people. As the best of bi-racial friends, it’s only fitting that he be my best man at my wedding.

Jessica Fleming

Bridesmaid

I have known Jess since the first grade. I remember giving her my phone number by scratching our landline into the back of a wooden ruler. Weird, but true! We have loved everything from the Backstreet Boys and playing school in her basement, to being college roommates and taking spring break trips in Mexico together. Jess has been there through every monumental life event, many "firsts", and over the course of the last 23 years, she has probably heard more secrets about me than any other person on this planet. Somehow, she still loves me! I factually could not take this exciting, huge, and new step in my life without her being a part of it. I am so lucky for my friend for life to be a part of our day!

Andrew Grette

Groomsman

While Andrew & I first became friends sharing a job washing dishes in high school, we first met in elementary school. Our dads worked together & one night my family had his over for dinner, while we played a ridiculous game of one-on-one. The game spanned multiple 30-minute quarters, the score was in the 70’s, and to this day neither of us will admit who lost. 20 years later, not much has changed. Central boys through & through, Andrew is the best friend a guy could ask for. This is made painfully obvious to any person who has been around us as we passionately & loudly (sorry Becca!), talk basketball, John Carpenter & tennis. He’s selfless & loyal, & I’m honored to have him by my side on the day where I’m sure he’ll remind me what Jack Burton would say: “The check is in the mail!”

Kaylie Wren

Bridesmaid

Kaylie holds a special place in my heart. First, because she has signed up to spend the rest of her life with my brother- no small task! And second, because she has an infectious energy and brings light and happiness to everyone around her. I've known Kaylie for a decade. We have survived being roommates (twice), and a road trip across America (and back). She takes unflattering pictures of me for fun, and once argued with me that adding rocks to the water tank of the toilet saved money on the water bill and left more of it for the fishies. She's one-of-a-kind! I'm thrilled that my sister-in-law can return the honor and be beside me when I say "I do". :)

Sean Wren

Groomsman

Throughout high school I always had a love of the “it’s so bad it’s actually good” movie genre. I spent countless weekend evenings with friends laughing at absurd special effects, glaring plot-holes and painful dialogue in nearly forgotten horror movies. So when Sean first visited us in Fort Collins and suggested watching Tommy Wiseau’s “The Room,” I knew immediately we would get along just fine. But Sean really showed how caring he is when two weeks later, he bought and mailed a copy of the movie to our house in Fort Collins! Sean has probably been in more wedding parties than anybody I’ve ever met due to his hilariously goofy yet charismatic and fun-loving personality. I’m lucky to have him in mine.

Nicole Szymkowski

Bridesmaid

Nicole is my soon-to-be SIL, and I'm pretty lucky for that! Fun fact about Nicole: she is responsible for my love of Hydroflasks... AND Chacos! Many of you will high-five her for that, some of you might hold her accountable for me wearing Chacos on my wedding day (it's happening). But I love her for it! She was the reason I bought my first pair (and second, third, sixth........). I knew I would love her when I realized we both have a love of helping kids, hiking, and drinking craft beer. What's not to love?! Having her by my side when I marry her brother will make my wedding party complete!

Brent Szymkowski

Groomsman

As my brother-in-law, Brent instantly made an awesome first impression with his love of beer, scotch, Nintendo 64 and Steve Nash. I always knew he was a great guy, mostly for his patience and willingness to marry my little sister Nicole, but it was after my sister’s bridal shower that I knew he belonged in my wedding party. While Nicole spent the day with my family, Brent and I embarked on an adventure that included a couple of beers on the New Belgium brewery tour and pick-up basketball at my gym… in that order. While I admire his bravery and willingness to play basketball after a day of drinking beer, it was his easy-going nature and genuine heart that convinced me he belonged.

Ashton Miller

Bridesmaid

A true story of perseverance: I was convinced I was not interested in being friends with Ashton at first (RELAX!! We laugh about this always), perhaps exacerbated by New Year's Eve in Paris while sharing a room with her (+ two other girls). It was 3am, I was super sick, and Ashton came in the room furious that the hotel would not provide her sheets. In fairness, it WAS completely ridiculous. But somewhere between there and climbing ALL the stairs in the Eiffel tower at my insistence, our friendship bloomed. And wouldn't you know it, since then we have coached together, rendezvoused in the middle-of-nowhere Utah, discussed countless home projects, and finished a Masters together. Real glad she stuck it out and insisted I be friends with her. Glad she'll be beside me on my wedding day!

Marlee Taylor

Groomswoman

Marls Barkley: I’ve had no friend longer than Marlee, and it would be impossible to imagine this day without her by my side. Over the last 22 (what?!) years we shared countless jokes about teachers, discussions about tennis players, and afternoons watching classic movie trilogies. We played in our school’s talent show together (Sky Pirates Reunion Tour!). We’ve reimagined the early 2000’s Sacremento Kings playoff runs in NBA 2K. We planned the dopest island party of all time over Frosties at Wednesday. Put simply, Marlee is one of the funniest and raddest dudes ever. It’s honestly hard to picture key moments in my life I haven’t spent with Marlee, and it’s impossible to imagine having this day without her.

Gracyn Anderson

Flower Girl

Gracyn is the first babe to make me an auntie (by love of her mommy). G Marie and I like to cook in her outside house, play Hungry Hungry Hippos, and talk about our nail polish. She might know me better than most because for about a year, she insisted on calling me Uncle Becca- it's like she knows how much I love woodworking and fixing things. :) The day that Zach proposed- she gave him her full endorsement by saying, "I want Uncle Zach and Aunt Becca to be married right now!" Can't wait to have her as part of our big day!

Marshall Wren

Ring Bearer

WE ARE NOW AN AUNT AND UNCLE!!!!! Thanks, Sean and Kaylie for having a handsome little fella in time for our wedding! We are in love with his giggling little face and can't WAIT to see him stumble down the aisle in a little baby suit. Swoon!

Ryan Thomas

Junior Bridesmaid

Ryan is my girl- I've known her since she was in the fourth grade and by the time our wedding rolls around, she will have finished a year of college at NYU! I've nannied Ryan, lived with Ryan, traveled with her and her family to Europe, was dubbed the "Becky" nickname by her, and she's my go-to for fashion advice. She's known me my entire adult life; she's seen all the ups and downs and she is still one of my biggest cheerleaders. Considering I'll be asking her for opinions on all things wedding (except the Chacos... it's a non-negotiable), it only makes sense to have the honor of calling her my Junior Bridesmaid!

Paige Thomas

Junior Bridesmaid

Oh, Moopsey! I first met Paige when she was three years old when I worked at a daycare in college. My first memory of her was trying to teach her how to use scissors at craft time! Over the years, Paige has been my adventure buddy... riding roller coasters with me, eating cereal in the hotel bed in Santa Fe with me, playing volleyball with me, watching bad lifetime tv with me, and eating alllll the chocolate croissants in Europe with me. Paige the Sage is full of wisdom but always keeps me young. From the time she was about 5 years old, Paige dreamed of the day her Becky would get married in hopes that she'd be the flower girl. Considering she's in high school now, I figured a promotion to Junior Bridesmaid would be better suited- so glad to finally have her a part of our big day!

Declan Anderson

Ring Bearer

When Zach and I got engaged, Declan was just a twinkle in his parent's eye! For our original date, my Matron of Honor (Caitlin), would have been 8 months pregnant with Declan, so one bright spot in moving our wedding is that now he is HERE! We can't wait to have him join Marshall as ring bearers in our wedding. We are the luckiest!
