You’ll be flying into Athens Airport! We recommend staying a day or two to explore this beautiful city. We highly recommend going to Acropolis to learn more about the Greek history. We suggest staying in the Plaka District. It’s a beautiful area filled with charming Airbnbs and hotels—many with views of the Acropolis! Plaka has a lively nightlife, plenty of restaurants, and lots of great shops to explore. It’s a bit touristy, but very safe and convenient—perfect for first-time visitors to Athens.

After flying into Athens, you’ll take a taxi to the Port of Athens, which takes about 45 minutes.

Once at the Port you can walk to the Alpha Lines kiosk to purchase tickets for the high-speed ferry. The ferry ride to the island of Aegina is only 35 minutes. We recommend sitting by a window and enjoying the view it’s a relaxing and beautiful way to begin your time on the island!
