Question

What is the weather like in the central coast of California?

Answer

The weather is a bit on the cool side especially with the coastal breeze. The average temperature ranges between 55 to 72 (12-22C) degrees Fahrenheit. Sometimes it can get to 45 degrees at night with the wind chill. The ocean has a cold current that comes down from Alaska causing the ocean breeze to be quite chilly. We suggest to bring a lightweight puffy or windbreaker for the early mornings and evenings. The morning usually has a cloudy mist coming off the ocean then by noon it clears and the sun comes out for the rest of the day providing beautiful views of the coastline. When we go to the beach, we like to wear leggings and sweat pants with sweat shirts. The ocean water is quite cold, swimming is for the seals or with a wetsuit if you are brave. The venue is 45 minutes inland so it is more like 60 to 70 degrees for the wedding day. It is coldest right on the coast then warms up the more you drive inland.

Question

Can we take an Uber or Lift to the wedding venue?

Answer

The venue is in the forest, Ubers and Lifts will not be able to pick you up that late at night. We will provide a shuttle from a location in Monterey to the venue and back again. So no need to worry about Ubers and Lifts on the wedding day.

Question

What air port should I fly into?

Answer

There are two airports we would recommend you check out prior to solidifying your travel plans. The first being the closest, the Monterey Regional Airport (MRY). MRY as the name implies is located within Monterey and would be by far the most convenient travel option as you would be minutes away from downtown and recommended lodging. The downside to MRY is that it is a very small airport and is unlikely to have a lot of flight options. The second of the two airports would be the San Jose International Airport (SJC). SJC is a much larger airport and will 100% have several flight options to choose from. The downside of SJC is it is located approximately 1 hour from Monterey so additional travel arrangements would have to be made. Another option is the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), could be a great excuse to check out the city for a day or two prior to heading into Monterey
