Our venue for both the ceremony and reception is The Mason Jar Gathering Barn at 637 Leonard Rd in Onalaska, WA 98570.
Onalaska is tiny! They have a population of 544. Centralia is considered the "city" with a population of 17,000 and the city of Chehalis has a whole 7,500 residents.
We have had no problems with our TMobile service out at the venue. Verizon and US Cellular are popular here and do well, so likely you will have good coverage. If you choose to venture east toward the mountains, you're service will likely be spotty, but Centralia, Chehalis and the venue should be no problem.
This is NOT a black tie event. Maxi dresses and "Sunday best" outfits for the ladies and nice jeans or slacks with button up shirts for the men will be formal enough! Wear shoes that are suitable for walking on grass and gravel. Ladies, consider leaving the stilettos behind and opting for a chunkier heel or wedge! We also recommend an extra layer, especially for our guests from warmer climates :)
Our colors are navy blue, mid tone greys and sage green with pops of sunflower yellow.
For those who may need assistance walking from the parking area to the ceremony/reception space there is an area for vehicles to pull right up to the space so they may be dropped off. Most walking surfaces are very well maintained, flat lawn that does not get soft or spongey with rain, concrete and some gravel. There is an ADA compliant stall in the men's and women's bathrooms. There are no stairs at the venue.
We will make this call closer to the wedding. We are hoping for an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception.
We don't really notice it, but yes, compared to most places we see a lot of rain here. But some rain in the morning doesn't mean it will rain all day! In the fall, it is typically cool in the mornings with fog, and some rainy days here and there. We don't usually hit our true rainy season till late October/November. Come prepared for rain, but don't be surprised if you catch some sunshine while you're here.
We are anticipating about 150-185 guests.
Unfortunately, rideshare is not available in our area. There is plenty of parking at the venue. Please plan ahead to drive sober or arrange for a designated driver. You are also welcome to bring your own sleeping accommodations (ie: camper, tent, sleep-able vehicle) to camp at the venue during the wedding weekend, free of charge!
Of course! We will have a kids activity table available at our open seating reception where we will supply a couple of activities such as coloring pages and crayons. The venue is set back from the road by a long driveway, but please keep an eye on your kiddos as it is a large venue with plenty of places for them to hide! There is also a changing table and nursing chair available in the women's restrooms at the venue.
With this ever changing situation, we cannot predict what risks will be present at the time of our wedding at this time. Currently, we know that our venue is an open air venue with superior air circulation and our venue is complying with the restrictions in place for open air venues. We respect anyone's wishes to wear a mask as well as those who don't. We do ask that if you are sick, to please refrain from attending.
We will be listing the common food allergens present in the food offered. If you have further concerns, you may ask for more information.
