The Wedding Website of Sierra Woltman and Andrew Woltman
Greetings, friends and family! We're excited to have you share this special day with us! For those of you who will be traveling to the Asheville area from out of town, you might be wondering what to expect. Our aim here is provide you with a bit more information to aid in your planning as you begin to make travel arrangements.

Travel Note

General Information

Fall is a beautiful time to visit the southern Appalachian Mountains! The weather is often mild and pleasant, and there is a colorful myriad of foliage draped across the mountain ridges. This certainly provides an ideal setting for our wedding day, yet it has also led to Asheville becoming a top destination for out of town guests. Thus, if you anticipate being able to attend, we encourage you to secure travel and lodging reservations as soon as possible. Check out the link below for more information about Asheville and the surrounding area!

Hotel

Asheville Area Lodging Options

From posh downtown hotels to rustic mountain cabins, a wide variety of accommodations are available in and around the Asheville area. Depending on what you prefer for your stay, we encourage you to explore the area's offerings. Unfortunately, most accommodations do not offer discounted rates during this peak tourist season, even with blocked rooms. Thus, due to the already heightened accommodation rates during peak season, we have found it best to have our out of town guests select accommodations that best suit their needs and desires for their stay. Rental properties (Airbnb, Vrbo, etc.) offer a unique, private, and often more reasonable experience.

Flight

Asheville Regional Airport

Located approximately 15 miles south of downtown Asheville, the closest airport to the wedding venue is the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL). Though significantly smaller than international airports located in large cities such as Atlanta and Charlotte, AVL is a well-connected airport that offers direct service to and from many major airports, including, but not limited to: Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Newark, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.

Depending on your origin of travel, you may wish to explore other air travel options. Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (Greer, SC): ~75 miles from Asheville Tri-Cities Airport (Blountville, TN): ~75 miles from Asheville Charlotte Douglas International Airport (Charlotte, NC): ~125 miles from Asheville Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (Atlanta, GA): ~210 miles from Asheville

Rental Car

Car Rental

Rental cars from a variety of primary companies can be picked up at AVL (and the other airports noted). Uber, Lyft, and taxi services are readily available from the airport throughout the metro area as well, should these be of need or interest to you.
