As our loved ones, each of you is special to us. We cannot adequately express our gratitude for your continued love, support, and guidance that have helped shape us into the people we are. Having the ability to celebrate with you as we look forward to this new chapter in our lives is truly meaningful.
In true Millennial fashion, we "met" through an online dating site (We know, right?!), and our first in-person encounter was at Andrew's collegiate tennis match at Augustana College, Sierra's undergraduate alma mater. If you know us well, this story may surprise you. No worries, it surprised us too! Though a bit unorthodox and unexpected, we quickly developed a strong connection that was undeniable. We nurtured this special bond over time, and a genuine relationship blossomed and grew. Our relationship has stood the tough test of time and distance (we're talking 1000 miles of long distance), and our love has proven unbreakable. Now, we can't picture our lives without one another! We were a little nervous and embarrassed to share the true story of our meeting at first, but we're confident our paths crossing in this way was no coincidence. We're eternally grateful for our unique story...and for one another!
With its tranquil setting and 360-degree views of the Appalachian Mountains she calls home, Big Bald Mountain has been one of Sierra's favorite places since childhood. But one day's snowy hike on the Appalachian Trail from Sam's Gap to the summit made it even a bit more special. As Sierra was taking a panoramic picture of the unparalleled mountain view at the summit, Andrew snuck behind her. When Sierra turned around, he was on one knee and asked her to marry him. Andrew proposed with a beautifully unique ring from the Wisconsin jeweler his family has used for generations. You know the rest!
