Lower Yosemite Falls
Andrew proposed to Rachel in Yosemite! Check out Lower Yosemite Falls! Just a .5 mile walk on flat paved paths, you'll see wildlife, walk over the base of the falls, and choose the out and back or forest loop path to return to the trailhead. Easy access via the Yosemite Lodge parking lot across the street, or as a shuttle stop on the free shuttles within the park. Visit the park website for more information and current conditions. Northern Mariposa County History Center
Andrew is a former member of the board for the museum! Also known as the Coulterville Museum, it offers visitors a glimpse of the life and times of early California, from the early 1800’s through the boom days of the 1849 gold rush and the post gold rush era of the late 1800’s and early 20th century. Friday – Sunday 11am – 3pm.
Diana Falls Hike and Swimming Hole
One of Rachel and Andrew's favorite walks with their dog Selene! Use Bower Cave for GPS. Features a waterfall at the end of a 1.4 mile out and back trail, swimming holes in the creek along the way.
Around The Horn Brewing Company
Andrew & Rachel's favorite local watering hole! Enjoy award – winning craft beers created here in the Gold Country! Discover their signature beer slushies, and delight in the casual yet diverse menu from the taproom or outdoor beer corral. Families and dogs welcome, open 7 days a week, please note the kitchen closes 1 hour prior to the taproom. Open 4-9pm with a limited menu on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, full menu Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday – Saturday 11am – 10pm, Sunday-Monday 11am-9pm.
Coulter Cafe
Rachel & Andy's favorite local restaurant, serving traditional American fare breakfasts from 9am – 11am and lunches from 11am-2:45pm daily, dine-in or to-go. The general store is open 9am – 6pm and has a fabulous wine and gourmet snack selection, as well as basic grocery items. Dogs welcome, and live music on Saturdays from July – September. The Café is also home to the Northern Mariposa Visitor’s Center, providing information about Historic Coulterville - including town maps that identify and explain in detail the history of each site.
The Copperpot Cafe
Rachel & Andy's favorite breakfast spot. Serving down-home, scratch-made and love-infused breakfast and lunch offerings and occasional dinner events by reserved seating only. Dine in or order to-go, Open Thursday – Mondays 8am – 4pm.
Hotel Charlotte Tavern & Restaurant
Rachel & Andy's favorite spot to catch their buddy's live music! Located within the Charlotte Hotel, offering elevated comfort cuisine, nightly dinner specials, craft cocktails, local craft beer and wine from their tavern dining room or backyard garden. Drinks and the bar bites menu are available Monday – Wednesday from 5pm -9pm, with full dinner service Thursday – Sunday from 4pm-8:30pm.
Carlon Falls Trail
Features a waterfall at the end of a 3.8 mile out and back trail. Trailhead has picnic areas, restrooms, and the waterfall is within Yosemite’s boundaries without having to use the main gate to access.
Iron Door Saloon
Stop in and enjoy a piece of history at California’s oldest continuously running saloon! Offering drinks, breakfast, lunch and dinner pool, live music (check Facebook for dates). Open 7 days a week, with the bar/pool hall open 11am to 11pmish and the grill open 8am – 8pm most days, call 209-962-6244 for questions.
Mountain Sage Cafe and Nursery
Rachel & Andy's favorite spot to geek out over plants in the nursery while enjoying a coffee. Serving crafted coffee beverages and baked goods, offering private tea parties and yoga classes in the beautiful plant nursery out back, as well as clothing, gifts, and stunning photography by local artist Robb Hirsch.
