Afoot and light hearted, we invite you to bear witness to the giving of our hands, the public declaration of our love more precious than money, our oaths of commitment to each other before preaching or law as camerados on the roads of traveling souls. Come join in the interweaving of our lives, the melding of our kin and clan, the wedding of our love under sierra skies in our beloved mountain valley where we take morning and evening strolls with our canine queen Selene. We seek to bring our dearest family and most true friends together, to this quiet cove of solace and contemplation, under the cottonwoods where we learned to love among the lilacs and wild plums to celebrate a most rare and wyld romance. For us, this ritual is a time to make public vows we have long ago whispered between nestled hearts; but to swear them before you is different, it reminds us that each of us is a part of a dazzling fabric and lets us make this moment in the mountains a loom for the warp and weft of our relations in ways we hope will be meaningful and memorable for all. And, being students and scholars of history and theatre the first days of May have special significance. So we hope we can all gather to bring in the spring, to celebrate the return of life, the eternal renewal of love, to dance and sing and shatter the night with our spirited celebrating, so it, like our lives will never be the same again. The frontier mountain fires await the swinging sound of horns beneath a crescent sky. Let there be feasting, and fancy dress from eras past so no one can say style was lacking in this creekside fete.
