Mikaela met Jacob in April 2014. Jacob met Mikaela September 19, 2014. Jacob went to college with one of Mikaela's long time friends, Riley. On September 19, 2014 Mikaela hosted a surprise party for Riley, and in walked Jake. From drinks with friends, to debating the best music to play at a party, Jake and Mikaela pulled out the smoothest of moves to swoon each other. Just weeks after, Mikaela left for Europe, and it was that trip that solidified their interest in one another. Not merely 3 days in on a Halloween night in Rome, Mikaela texted Jake. From there, Mikaela's trip was filled with new cities and new feelings for this guy back home. Days after touching down back in the US in December 2014, Jake and Mikaela hung out and have been together ever since.

We finished 2018 off with an engagement, starting 2019 off with a bang. We were with family in Leavenworth, WA, and at one of our favorite spots along Icicle Creek on New Years Eve, our lifelong adventure buddy status and commitment to each other become "official". We celebrated with beers, wine, toasts, dancing and gratitude. #NewYearNewMe
