We have Juli Bernstein to thank for our "Once Upon a Time." It was Juli who insisted we attend a sorority date night together during our senior year of college—and she was clearly onto something! That night led to countless study dates, including one particularly memorable afternoon when Adam received his MCAT scores. From there, the rest was history. Our relationship was truly tested (and strengthened) by two years of long distance. While I was in Athens and later Boston, Adam was navigating the demands of medical school in Knoxville. After years of FaceTimes and travel, we finally closed the gap when we moved to Memphis for Adam’s medical rotations. Today, we are happily settled in Tennessee with our two fur babies, Frodo and Rosie. When we aren’t traveling to new places, you can find us at home catching up on our favorite movies and TV shows.

Adam had it all mapped out: a surprise getaway, a clear calendar, and a packing list that left Becca guessing. They hadn’t even cleared the West Memphis bridge before she started playing detective, but it wasn't until the rolling hills of Arkansas appeared that the secret was finally out. They were headed to Hot Springs. The next morning began perfectly—breakfast and her favorite coffee served in bed. But the tranquility didn't last long. Adam somehow convinced Becca to take the kayaks out on the lake behind their Airbnb, a plan that ended with both of them capsized within minutes. They spent the next hour in a comedy of errors, struggling to get back into their boats and shivering their way back to shore. After a much-needed nap and a "recovery" energy drink, Adam nudged a suspicious Becca toward a hiking trail downtown. Despite her protests, they climbed until the path opened into a clearing. There, a massive rock overlooked a breathtaking vista. When Becca turned to share the view with Adam—he was already down on one knee.
